Lying lips

Proverbs 12: 22 (NIV)
“The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.”

I stand listening to this person telling me lies. My reaction is instant; I can feel my blood boiling, heat rushing up into my face. My ears are ringing and my first instinct is to grab this person and throttle them. The urge to sort them out immediately is pushing me I need to take control of my emotions but my face has given me away.

To top it off this person stands looking at me as though I am totally mad. They feel they can get away with this and I can’t imagine how. If I feel like this when someone tells me a lie, I wonder how God feel about us telling lies.

I can relate to God’s detesting lying lips, it hurts me to think they pull the wool over my eyes when I know for a fact they are lying. Do they underestimate my intelligence? I wonder, do we underestimate God’s intelligence? Be careful don’t tell lies its terrible, I believe own up to your mistakes, take the punch.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, people around us underestimates our intelligence and feels they can pull the wool over our eyes. Why they do that I don’t know but I am sure that it must grate your teeth too. Forgive me if I have lied to anybody knowingly or unknowingly. I humble myself before You asking for forgiveness of this kind of sin. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Amen.

Rejoice always in the LORD.

1 Thessalonians 5: 16-19

“Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.  Do not quench [subdue, or be unresponsive to the working and guidance of] the [Holy] Spirit.”

What makes me happy? Was on my mind this morning? I am so grateful for my family and friends. I have a great support system and I can turn to my family anytime and I believe they will be there for me. I believe God blessed my life with a good husband, all my children and my grandchildren and God have allowed my mom to live another year.  His grace abounds and we can say thank You, Lord.
I rejoice in knowing that the Lord still is there for me, I am grateful that I am able to come into His presence each and every day.

What makes you happy? Things don’t bring you happiness, if you are emotional unhappy you will struggle with every aspect of life. God gives us the assurance that we can come to Him any time of the day and He is there for us. I am grateful that I can come to the Lord day or night. He is there for me. Bless Him forever and ever.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Lord I want to rejoice always in You Lord Jesus, I bring You all my praise and I want to say thank You Lord for another day. Thank You for Your loving-kindness and all the good gifts You give me. I love and worship You, Lord, in the Holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

True Love

Colossians 1: 15 (NIV)

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.”

I know we cannot see Jesus Christ of Nazareth nor God, but we who believe in Jesus Christ know that God loves us unconditionally. I don’t know how to even comprehend Gods love towards me, the price the Lord Jesus Christ paid on the cross for my life. I am so grateful and I wish there were words to express how much I love the Lord.

My one true love is the LORD Jesus Christ; I love Him because He first loved me. I am a child of the living God. I am trusting God and ask Him to understand His love for me. I am His child but I don’t think I truly know the extent of God’s love towards me.

I know love is patient and kind, love does not envy or boast, it is not arrogant or rude. I have watched many couples and sometimes my mouths fall open. The way they speak to each other makes me cringe, is that love? They cannot even be civil towards each other, swearing and cursing. Love this and that but no kind words come out of their mouths.

Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ today I want to pray and ask You to please show me the extent of Your love towards me today. I am uncertain of the extent of Your love. Help me to understand what You did for me. I have seen all the movies and I read Your word, today I am asking You help me understand Your love for me. Thank You, Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

Why Worry?

Matthew 6: 27 (NASB)
“And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?”

Sitting down my right leg automatically starts swinging; I am feeling impatient and playing with my ring on my left hand. I must bake a couple of cakes, the lounge needs a good clean. I want to write something for my blog. I feel worried that I won't have enough time to get to everything. It drives me crazy; you will never find me sitting around doing nothing.

I don't worry about money or things like that, I feel worried that I just never have enough time to do all my chores. When I go to bed I feel so tired it seems I didn't get around to do what I set out to do. What will become of me? It irritates me that I stay busy and other people can sit around doing nothing.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Lord thank You for today, thank You that we can come and sit at Your feet today. Lord helps me to relax and trust in You. You have graced me with a new day, and Your mercies are new every day. Thank You, Lord, let Your will be done today in my life as You wish. I worship and praise You, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

Hebrews 11: 5 (ESV)
“By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God.”

How can I get into a personal relationship with the LORD? I believe we need to accept the LORD Jesus Christ of Nazareth as our LORD and Saviour. Then we need to build our relationship through studying God's word [Bible] each day.

Faith is the key to please God. I also feel Enoch had a personal relationship with God. Enoch woke up early praying for the day ahead, reading scripture and helping others. Waiting on the Lord for answers and obeying God's commands.

In all honesty, I believe we only please God infractions. I feel I fail God every day with something. I let Him down without knowing it. He loves me I know, I am still able to do what I want but my faith isn't that strong and my commitment is lacking.

Prayer

LORD I would love to be pleasing to You. I am striving to grow my relationship with You. I am seeking Your kingdom every day. I need guidance and wisdom, I need understanding and I need You. I know without faith I am lost and I need You to show me the next step. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

Strengthen your hands.

Zechariah 8: 13 (AMP)
“And as you have been a curse among the nations, O house of Judah (Southern Kingdom) and house of Israel (Northern Kingdom), so I will save you, that you may be a blessing. Fear not; let your hands be strong.”

A Hadida dropped down into our garden and paced the lush green lawn looking for some morsels. I was staring out of the window watching the bird eat something. Unaware of the cat behind one of the bushes the bird walked up and down the lawn. He seemed so safe and sure of himself.

At the time I was thinking of how God saves people, what will happen to this bird? All of a sudden our cat leapt out and launched forward trying to capture his prey, the bird hopped out of reach and flew up into a tree above, it was a near miss.

I felt abandoned, alone and rejected. There seemed no one ever thought of me. Watching the bird and the cat reminded me that I am not alone and that God is with me every step of the way.

Prayer

Thank You, LORD, for this verse, we may feel cursed in life when in fact You have saved us. We are being blessed every step of the way. Lord open our eyes to Your blessings and show us the way forward.  In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Amen

God uses insignificant people.

2 Kings 5: 6 (ESV)
“And he brought the letter to the king of Israel, which read, “When this letter reaches you, know that I have sent to you Naaman my servant, that you may cure him of his leprosy.””

Frightened and shocked the messenger moves a couple of steps backwards. In the face of an outraged king, who tore his garments? Who knows what will happen? Elisha hears of this and sends a message to send Naaman to me.

Naaman stands outside the prophet’s house, another messenger is sent out. “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored, and you shall be clean.” Red-faced the commander wants to rush off back to his country. The impudence of this prophet but his servant encourages him to just try it.

Water dripping down the commanders face and tears of joy as he looks at his body, he has been healed. The little girl was instrumental in pointing him in the right direction and God used Elisha.

Prayer

LORD, we are all instruments in Your hands, if there is something we can do for other shows us. Let us be the vessels You use to lead others to You. In the Holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

Now is the Time.

Esther 4: 14 (NIV)
“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

How far does your influence reach? Where you born for such a time as this? God placed you in this position. You are sitting in a position to help people. Many people are in good positions and are able to speak up for a colleague or someone who is in need of a job. Perhaps you know someone who is able to assist with a place for someone to stay. You are rubbing shoulders with the right people and God is waiting for you to open the door for a person in need.

Are you using this time to your advantage? Are you in a position to assist someone in need and are you willing to help? What is stopping you? Is your pride holding you back? Are you letting this opportunity pass you by? Are you in a position for such a time as this?

Prayer

Lord as Mordechai reminded Esther that she was born for such a time as this. Lord where I find myself help me to do what I can in helping. I am not in a position to move mountains but I believe You know who is my mountain movers. I want to pray that You will move them into action. In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

I Want to Glorify You LORD

1 Corinthians 6: 20 (AMP)

“You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honour and glorify God with your body.”

I wonder if you truly understand the concept of honouring and glorifying God with your body? Let us think of a couple, eating and weight. I have a weight problem not because I eat too much because I now am eating. I never used to eat in the morning or during the day and only eat a small portion in the evening. Constantly worried that I will get fat, but I was losing my strength.

I find when I eat 3 balanced meals in a day, I put on weight. This frustrates me and then I revert back to my old ways. Am I glorifying God with starving myself? I don’t believe I am God wants us to be happy, isn’t it?

I know Jesus Christ of Nazareth died on a cross for my sins, and I am trying to glorify my God. Am I succeeding in my task?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Lord help me to honour You with my body, I failed You so many times in the past. I want to bring You glory and honour with my body, I want to keep it Holy in Jesus Christ of Nazareth Name. Amen

Obadiah

15 For the day of the LORD is near upon all the nations. As you have done, it shall be done to you; your deeds shall return on your own head.”

Thoughts gush into my mind, how many times have I hurt people intentionally? I know when you cross me I will get even. Is it frowned upon? It should be but who knows? I am the first to point out “what you sow you will reap.” Lashing out and stating my case all the time, hmm. Then one day I will stand before the LORD, what have I done?

I am an imperfect woman; I allowed my moods to rule my heart and mind. Today in humbleness I stand before the LORD, guilty of such horrible sins. My temper ignited and turned to rage. Red-faced and upset I shout at you. Will I ever be a good person again?

I crave to become a better person. I have constantly fought my moods, my feelings and what I have allowed in my life. I am dismantled; I stand exposed before the LORD. Guilty, guilty. Please forgive me.

Prayer

LORD, I stand guilty on some many accounts before You today. I know what I sow I will reap. In humility please hear me and forgive me. I realize that I am guilty of so many accounts. I repent of being self-righteous and believing I am better than others. In the name of the LORD Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

The Desire to Please God

Proverbs 4: 24
“Put away from you crooked speech and put devious talk far from you.”

Make a decision and put your past behind you. Start learning how to control your thoughts. I identified sins that have tripped me up. You have to confess Pride, Rejection, Stress, Rage, Suspicion, Jealousy, Fear, Bitterness and Confusion. I confessed my shortcomings to the Lord on each of the above attitudes.

We need to clear the air with the Lord, repent. I desire to please God. I want to live a Holy life. I want to be the change I want to see. Crying out to the Holy Spirit for help, I am losing my way.

Each of the attitudes I mentioned causes me to react in an unpleasant way towards the people I love. I am fighting this war with the help of the Holy Spirit. I will not allow my mood to rule my heart any longer.

Prayer

Lord, humbly I confess I allowed pride, rejection, stress, rage, suspicion, jealousy, fear, bitterness and confusion to rule my heart. Holy Spirit please shows me how to restore my life. Lord Jesus guide me and teach me, show me how I can renew my mind and learn to live a life that is pleasing to You. I declare the blood of Jesus Christ over my heart, soul and mind. Amen
