Scripture for Saturday

Philippians 3:13-14 (AMP)

13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider that I have made it my own yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the [heavenly] prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Scripture for Thursday

1 Corinthians 10:13 (AMP)

13 No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].

Scripture - a Holy Day

Learn to relax especially on the Sabbath!

Exodus 20:8-11 (AMP)

“Remember the Sabbath (seventh) day to keep it holy (set apart, dedicated to God). Six days you shall labour and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath [a day of rest dedicated] to the Lord your God; on that day you shall not do any work, you or your son, or your daughter, or your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock or the temporary resident (foreigner) who stays within your [city] gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything that is in them, and He rested (ceased) on the seventh day. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy [that is, set it apart for His purposes].

Scripture for Saturday

Galatians 6:2 (AMP)

Carry one another burdens and in this way you will fulfil the requirements of the law of Christ [that is, the law of Christian love].

I want to encourage you today, to be there in a crisis for your friends and family. I know that it's important to just have someone contacting me. I feel they actually care about me and that I am important to them. I find when speaking to my husband for example he makes eye contact and actually listens to what I am saying. That is such a comfort to me.

Sometimes life just seems to be bent out of proportion and I just feel anxious and all alone. I normally withdraw but one person that I can rely on is my husband. He has a calming way about him and always tries to reassure me things will be fine.  Reminding me that there is always a way to sort this situation out.

I am constantly reminded to focus on real issues, and not think of "what if" they aren't in play.

Scripture for Friday

When I don't want to get involved with something I have the tendency of "compassionate disengagement" "it's not my problem." Oh dear, why do we act like that?

Romans 12:8 (AMP)

or he who encourages, in the act of encouragement; he who gives, with generosity; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy [in caring for others], with cheerfulness.
