Deception – is it luring you?

Acts 5: 8 ESV
“And Peter said to her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much.” And she said, “Yes, for so much.”

Ananias and Sapphira were both lured by fame and recognition.   Believing Peter can be deceived by their story. Ananias didn't see what was coming his way nor did Sapphira.

Peter asked Ananias why he felt completed to lie to the Holy Spirit. I am sure Ananias had a good reason for his lie. I believe the Holy Spirit knows what we think and keep in our hearts.

Both Ananias and Sapphira dropped dead after telling a lie to Peter. God isn't up for our silly games.
They both died on the spot. The people in the congregation heard what happened and they were fearful.

I think we all are lured by fame and recognition. I want people to know how good I am. The deeds I have done need to be reported and broadcast over the world.

Prayer

Lord, please help us to wait patiently for You. You are a rewarder of good deeds. Help us to focus on You and not our carnal flesh. We bind the lure of recognition and fame in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

Can you keep a secret?

Proverbs 11: 13 AMP
“He who goes about as a gossip reveals secrets, but he who is trustworthy and faithful keeps a matter hidden.”

As I walked into the office everybody stopped talking and acted like they were busy with something. The one person I trusted went and started a fire. Dropping a quick word here and there as I looked at the people in the office I saw her standing behind one of the cabinets. Our eyes met and her face turned red. Hmm, she was spreading the news.

I walked into my office and greeted everyone on my way to my desks, guys nodding their head and woman pretending not to see me. I felt the heat rise up in my neck into my face. I felt flushed and embarrassed at the same time. The one person I trusted turned on me. Can you ever.

My boss walked over to my desk as I sat in my chair. “So I believe you have officially joined the divorcĂ©es club.” He smiled and placed a file on my desk. “Seriously!” I was furious right there and then. “Can no one keep a secret this day?” I looked up and my so-called friend walks toward my desk. “Hi, so glad you could make it today, I was under the impression you are going to take a day leave.” Her hands clutched in front of her as she played with her wedding ring.

Prayer
Abba Father, sometimes people are irresponsible and careless, they speak and say things they don’t even worry about. It just flows out of their mouths. I believe that You Lord will treat us exactly the same way we treat other people. Lord, if I lack compassion please forgive me and help me to be more compassionate towards other people in my life. If I have sinned against You knowingly or unknowingly, please forgive me. I also forgive those who have treated me with contempt and have gossiped about me. I set them free and I forgive them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

Love Your Church

Ephesians 5: 25 AMP
“Husbands, love your wives [seek the highest good for her and surround her with a caring, unselfish love], just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,”

Apparently, this does happen in the Church communities. I remember arriving at my Pastors house for our weekly Mentorship classes. I walked into the lounge and greeted all my friends.

Sitting down our Pastor said he had to tell us something. He took out a file and started paging through all the correspondence, reading the hot emails. I was shocked and thought what is happening here. I felt appalled when I heard all the accusations. It amazed me that people thought they had the right to write things down. It was apparent the church was going to split.

I remember coming home in tears telling my husband I don't belong anywhere. All the places I go to end up being the wrong place for me. My husband said to me "don't you give up on your church."
I believe after the split in our church many a mature believer feels disillusioned and I wonder how our new believers are dealing with the havoc of this split. I know it must have affected our pastors and their families, and this brings reproach upon the name of Jesus Christ. I do believe there is hope. Our church will experience healing and restoration going forward.

Going forward I believe our church split will heal and we need to repent and come before the Lord in humility.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, humbly I pray forgive me and our congregation if we have sinned against You knowingly or unknowingly. We pray for our Pastors and dedicate them into Your hands today, Lord lift them up.  Lord give them the necessary strength to face each day. Guide them and help them.  Thank You Lord for our Pastors and thank You for Your loving kindness.  In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  Amen

Show a little compassion!

Matthew 9: 36 ESV
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”

Why would the Lord Jesus feel compassion for the people He saw before Him? I see that they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. I wonder if you ever think of the day when you grow old. I wonder if you think you are invincible and you are going to be able to maintain your lifestyle.

What you don’t realize if you aren’t able to show a little compassion today, no one is going to show you a little compassion tomorrow. God isn’t going to let you get away with it. The seed you put into the ground today will come up tomorrow.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I want to pray and ask You to please forgive us because we lack in showing compassion towards other people. I have sinned against You today and I humbly pray for forgiveness, please create in me a clean heart and a pure spirit. I also want to pray for the elderly who have no one to look out for them. They are discarded like they don’t exist. Lord, I pray that You will send Your angels to protect each one of them, mom and oom Frik too. Lord keep Your hand over them. Let no harm come to them. Bless them today, with supernatural favour with You Lord as well as with people. In the Holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

Come and Praise the LORD God with me!

Psalm 7: 17
“I will thank the LORD for his justice; I will sing praises to the sovereign Lord!”

In humility, I want to bring You praises today. I give the LORD my God all the thanks due to His righteousness and I will sing praises to the name of the LORD, the Most High.

O LORD, my Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.

the LORD is in His Holy Temple; the LORD's throne is in heaven; His eyes see, His eyelids test the children of man.

The heavens declare the glory of God and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

LORD, yet You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, in You I trust to let me not be put to shame let not my enemies exult over me. LORD God I will trust in You. You are my stronghold, my shield and my shelter. I love You, Lord.

Prayer

Lord as it is written in Psalm 25 “Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame; they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous. Make me know your ways, O LORD, teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me for You are the God of my salvation; for You, I wait all the day long. Remember your mercy, O LORD, and Your steadfast love, for they have been from of old.” In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I pray, Amen

A Chosen Generation

 1 Peter 2: 9
“but you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvellous light;”

I want to proclaim today that I know who I am in the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that I am holy because my God is holy. I believe that I am a chosen generation because God has chosen me as His own possession. I believe that I am a royal priesthood because said so. I believe that God has called me by my name and that is why I belong to Him
.
I reject all forms of fear that tries to intimate me today. I will bring all the glory and honour to the Lord Jesus Christ. God is in control over my life an there is nothing the devil can do to take me out of His hand. I plead the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth around me and my family and friends today. God is in control each and every second of each and every day.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, Lord please keep Your hand of protection over my life and the lives of each person in my family and my friends. Lord, I pray for wisdom, insight and understanding. I pray that You will send the Holy Spirit to help each one of us and protect us. Keep us safe let no harm come our way. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray Amen.

I won’t lose my vision!

Romans 8: 28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”

This has been a truly difficult week for me and my colleagues. I am a contract worker and I was constantly plagued by the thought of losing my job before my contract came to term. I decided to take my eyes off the problem and bring my contract before the Lord my God. I remember something I read in the Bible where King Hezekiah received a letter from his enemies and prayed over this letter. From my point of view, God has only got good things in store for my life and I wanted to pray asking Him to stand in the gap for me. I need my job right now because so many people depend on me.
It struck me God was dealing with my colleagues as well as with me, I prayed and prayed and God said that He has blessed my hands for work. I believe that and I believe that my contract is in place. Then I heard things have changed for my colleagues too. I do believe God’s plan for my life will be accomplished no matter what the devil throws at me.

I almost lost my vision and I humbly ask for forgiveness from God, I cannot allow these things in life to throw me around. I know that the Lord is in control and that He has a plan for my life, and I will embrace it. No matter what others might say? God is always in control and will help me and others.

Prayer
O Lord God, in the Holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, thank You for opening this door for me and my colleagues. We are grateful that You have a good plan for our lives and we embrace You today for this opportunity. Bless the work of my hands as well as theirs. Thank You for being there for me in my hour of need and for them too. In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

Don’t let fear rule your mouth!

Mark 9: 2-6 ESV
“And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his clothes became radiant, intensely white, and no one on earth could bleach them. And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. And Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good that we are here. Let us make three tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.” For he did not know what to say, for they were terrified.”

The house is in turmoil and all I could think of was phoning my mom. I waited for the call to go through to my mom. A shot was fired and the phones handpiece shuttered. I almost fainted. This lunatic wasn't thinking and my life just flashed before my eyes. I know my mouth was faster than my brain and I was probably saying a whole lot more than was necessary.

James, John and Peter were with Jesus standing on the mountain, they didn't expect Moses and Elijah to pop in for a chat.  At that moment Peter was rambling, thinking of erecting tents for each person. I think he couldn't believe his own eyes. He saw Moses and Elijah and to top it off Jesus garment became radiant. It must have been spectacular but frightening at the same time.  They wouldn't have to know what to do.

I won't ever forget the day this person shot at me, I can still see it in my mind's eye. I have moved past my fear and I think my senses have dulled I don't fear anything, probably too stupid to even think about it. I have faced too many of these situations in my life. I have forgiven this person but I cannot forget what they did.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, please forgive me if I still hold onto the past, I forgive this person and set them free. Help me to focus my thoughts on You and let go of the past. You are my rock and my shield. I love You Lord, thank You for today, protect each one of us in Jesus name. Amen

Light of my life.

https://www.resource-capital.ch/en/news/view/sibanye-stillwater-and-drdgold-to-create-an-industry-leading-surface-mining-partnership.html

John 12: 46 (ESV)
“I have come into the world as light so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.”

I was fortunate in taking a tour in one of South Africa's Gold Mines. H J Joel Mine at the time in the Orange Free State. My boss arranged for all the secretaries to take this tour. I remember we had to get dressed for the occasion. We had to dress in the protective clothing, hard hats with lights and safety boots.

Now Joel mine at the time was trackless mining. My boss took us to the face where the guys were drilling for gold.  It very dark if your light goes out you cannot see your hand before your face. And the ammonia smell is very overwhelming.

The point is without light in the mines you cannot move one foot in front of the others. That is the same with the Lord Jesus, without Him in our lives we cannot move one foot in front of the other. We need Jesus to show us the way, light of our lives.

Prayer

Lord Jesus today we humbly come into Your presence, please light the way for each one of us. Protect each one of us and keep us going forward. Let Your light fill our lives and let us live in peace and love with You, Jesus. Amen

God's word - it will do everything He send it to do.

Isaiah 55:11
'So also will be the word that I speak - it will not fail to do what I plan for it; it will do everything I send it to do.'

Thank You Lord for this word, I am grateful that Your word will never fail, it will do everything You send it to do.

Amen

Praising God in the midst of my anxiety.

Psalm 90: 17 AMP
“And let the [gracious] favor of the LORD our God be on us; Confirm for us the work of our hands – Yes, confirm the work of our hands.”

Yes, I am worried and concerned, I don't know what my future has in store for me. Nevertheless, I want to bring glory and honour to my heavenly Father. Lord, O Lord God Almighty to You I bring praise, I will worship You with all my heart. I will praise You for Who You are.

In all humility, I thank You from the bottom of my heart that Your gracious favour rests upon the work of my hands, that You have confirmed the work of my hands.

I will sing praises to You, You Lord have blessed my life with Your supernatural favour and You have given me a second chance in life. I know and believe that Your divine power has granted me more than I deserve or ever dreamt of.

LORD, You are a sun and shield, the Lord bestows favour and honour. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

Prayer

In humility I stand before You Lord God, I believe that You are with me and will always keep me safe in Your hands. No good thing have You kept from me, I will praise and worship You Lord God. In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Amen
