I hear their words and I can see their attitudes towards me!

2 Peter 3: 18 AMP

“but grow [spiritually mature] in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory (honour, majesty, splendour), both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”

You know they say familiarity breeds content it is so true. I watch people and listen to how they speak to each other. I also know the relationship and see how disrespectful people act. I have also noticed their mouths are bitter and the words come out twisted.

I hear these words spill out of their mouths and I see their motives and attitudes. It frustrates me but then if I mouth my own opinion I feel even worse. I need to learn to watch my words, it is my heart’s desire to grow in grace.

Always taking a backseat isn’t something I deal well with but if that means I will grow grace I had better start practising it. The sad part until I learn how to deal with people who keep on antagonizing me I will write this test over and over again until I pass it.

From my point of view, I have to constantly work at forgiving them because I don’t want to carry any grudges it won’t work, I don’t want to become all bitter and twisted. I hope I was able to encourage you to stay graceful act with grace and forgive people, it's going to make you feel better about yourself.

Prayer

Lord God, help me to forgive people who say things that cut me, and I see their attitude towards me in their actions. Lord, I set them free and pray forgive them too. Help me face each day and grow in Your Spiritual Grace. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

A Sanctified life.

Romans 6: 13 AMP

“Do not go on offering members of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness. But offer yourselves to God [in a decisive act] as those alive [raised] from the dead [to a new life], and your members [all of your abilities – sanctified, set apart] as instruments of righteousness [yielded] to God.”

I believe the only way I can live a sanctified life is to fully give myself over to the Holy Spirit. I must submit myself to God. I need to have my thoughts renewed each and every day. I cannot live my life as I wish and think I am pleasing to God.

There must come a time in my life that I set myself up before the Lord asking that He will purify my thoughts, my thinking and my soul. I am human and I have a strong will. I believe my flesh will try and many times win when I the ego I needs or wants something.

I cannot do this on my own and I realized this a very long time ago, I had to come to a point in my life and make a decision. I had to choose the Lord Jesus Christ or my flesh and ego?

Prayer

Lord, You know how difficult it is for me to live a sanctified life. You know that my flesh is strong and my will pushes me constantly. I submit my life into Your hands, I believe You are able to make me clean and purify my life making me acceptable to You Lord, through the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

“For we also are His children.”

Acts 17: 28 AMP
“For in Him we live and exist [that is, in Him, we actually have our being], as even some of your own poets have said, “For we also are His children.””

I was thinking about this and it struck me that we live in a society that “loves” everything. I ask myself the question do we truly Love the Lord our God? Or do we look for love in all the wrong places?

Do you love your neighbour? Do you love your family? Do you Love God?

Sometimes I don’t love my neighbour or my family, they make me mad and I don’t want to even look their way. Do I love God? I believe that I love God. I have committed my life to the Lord Jesus and I accepted the Lord into my life.

And thinking about this statement “For we also are His children” brightens my face and makes me super happy. My life is in God’s hand and I know that God first loved me so I can love Him back.

Prayer

Lord I love You, I love You, I do. Today thank You that I can brag about my love for You. You lift me up, You called me by my name, I belong to You. I worship You in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

The Holy Spirit reproves mankind of his unbelieves in God.

John 16: 8 – 11 AMP
“And He, when He comes, will convict the world about [the guilt of] sin [and the need for a Saviour], and about righteousness, and about judgment; about sin [and the true nature of it], because they do not believe in Me [and My message]; about righteousness [personal integrity and godly character], because I am going to My Father and you will no longer see Me; about judgment [the certainty of it], because the ruler of this world (Satan) has been judged and condemned.”

Today I want to remind you that the Holy Spirit is a person and that we need the Holy Spirit to commune with the Lord our God. The Lord Jesus Christ had to leave so that the Father would send us a helper. I don’t believe I can make it on my own and without the Holy Spirit, I cannot make it through each day.

Yes when I do something wrong I hear this little voice whispering in my ear no, Yvette that’s not right. Some people will say it your conscious but I say it’s the Holy Spirit.

I need the Holy Spirit in my life I doubt if I can make it on my own.

Prayer

Holy Spirit comes into my life and helps me with my decision each day. I need You with all my heart. I love You Lord forgive me if I have disappointed You. Amen

The Lord is My Shepherd

Psalm 23: 5 ESV
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”

It is my heart’s desire to read and understand God’s Word that it will become alive within me and that I am able to share my knowledge with others.
Starting with the first verse we notice that the Lord is showing us our possession as well as our provision. It is amazing to see how King David describes these two important facts.

In times of difficulty we need to find peace and in the second verse King David reminds us of the peace and God is giving us. We are pardoned by God when King David reminds us that God restores our soul leading us on the paths of righteousness for His Namesake. Awesome!

Even when we face divesting circumstance we know we are partnered up with the Lord and that we do not have to fear no evil, because our partner God is with us.
We see how God is preparing a table before us in the presence of our enemies, anointing our head with oil and our cups running over. No wonder King David broke out in praising God for His goodness towards us.

Reminding us that we are heading for paradise and that we will live in the presence of our LORD God Almighty!

Prayer

Heavenly Father as we think about our lives please Lord give us the necessary wisdom and understanding to read You Word and let it become a living word in our lives today. In the Holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

Perseverance - #Friday

Nehemiah 6: 15-16 ESV
“So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty-two days. And when all our enemies heard of it, all the nations around us were afraid and fell greatly in their own esteem, for they perceived that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.”

The minute you understand your purpose you will not allow people to pressure you. You will stand your man in the company. I learned the harder people push you the harder you need to push back. Never once have I backed down, my purpose was clear I wanted to be a successful person.

I realized that people will pressure you to the extent that you become fearful when in fact the pressure is a ploy to get rid of you. The reasons are simple they cannot get on with you and would love you to leave.

In the old days when I felt the pressure of people manipulating and pressurizing me, I would break down in the bathroom and pray, crying and praying calling out to the LORD my God.

These people hated me, they hated my religion and they wanted me out. They made my life miserable and very difficult with unreasonable demands. I stuck it out and I prayed about it all the time. I have the favour of God in my life today.

Prayer

Abba Father, with unreasonable demands in our lives, please help each one of us face our adversaries. We have You, Lord, clothed with the righteousness of God in Christ we can stand against any difficulties. Taking up our position in You thank You for Your supernatural favour in our lives today. In the Holy Name of our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

Flattery will get you nowhere.

Proverbs 27: 21

“As silver is tried in the fining-pot and gold in the furnace; so a man is tried by the mouth of him that praiseth.  The heart of the wicked seeketh after evils, but the righteous heart seeketh after knowledge.”

How do you react to people who try and flatter you? I don’t understand why people try and flatter me. If someone tries to flatter me the first thing that comes to mind “What do you want?”

I don’t trust people who try and flatter me because I believe they have a hidden agenda and want something in return. I also feel they cannot be trusted. They always come with sweet talk but in the background, I have heard how they discuss me.

Prayer

Lord the question is do we enjoy flattery or do we brush it off and carry on with our lives. Do we think about the great words spoken over us and think we are all this and more when in fact we are still being pruned each day.
Lord helps us to discern right from wrong and not be taken into false pretences. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

What You Know About God Working It “For Your Good” And What You Don’t Know About God Working It “For Your Good.”

Deuteronomy 29: 29 AMP
“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things which are revealed and disclosed belong to us and to our children forever, so that we may do all of the words of this law.”

When your life is plain sailing and things are great you don’t even consider “for your good.” But let things take a turn and your life comes unstuck, that’s when you wonder why “for your good?” How can difficult times be good for you?

In those days when I was struggling and suffering with difficulties I was reminded “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” It’s difficult to do that when you are faced with adversaries. People that you trusted and thought had your back were out to get you. When you can’t see the outcome and you are plagued by fear it’s hard to see “we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8: 28

Now looking back those where the days I grew spiritually, I had placed my hope in the Lord my God. I was going through so much but I wouldn’t let go of the LORD. I didn’t know what the outcome would be but I trusted God.

Today I have left all that behind me, I cut the person off and moved on. I forgave them and ask God to help me with my own life. I don’t want to be caught up in that mess ever again.

Prayer

Lord God, You are awesome, You know best. When we are in trouble and don’t know which way to turn, You are there for us. Thank You for helping me get through those terrible days. Thank You for Your loving-kindness and understanding. I love and adore You, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen
