#BurdenBearer

Galatians 6: 2 (DARBY)

“Bear one another burdens, and thus fulfil the law of the Christ.”

I work at a Power Station in Mpumalanga and we travel in a taxi from the town to the Power Station.

Our morning route is the same first me and then the next person and so on. This morning I heard something that made me take a second look at this very beautiful young woman. She said, “I was so very sad last night that I drank a couple of glasses of wine.” Wow, I was surprised, she is beautiful and it looks like her life is just perfect.

People have the ability to hide their hurt behind a smile or be angry and we wouldn’t know their personal pain. My husband and I have been arguing about something and we have not resolved the matter but you would never know I am upset. Unless of course you know me and look at my eyes, then you will pick up I am upset. My eyes turn a light green when I feel hurt and upset. I cannot hide my eyes but I know they actually reveal my emotional state of mind.

Life isn’t easy and I realised once again people all are carrying something around with them. One guy used to travel on the taxi with us committed suicide and it was a shock to all of us. He seemed so organised and happy, he always smiled and was friendly. None of us knew the pain he carried around with him. Smoke and mirrors.

Prayer

Abba Father, today help us to listen to people and see if we can help them lighten their burdens. Guide us and show us the way forward. Lord give us the courage and wisdom to be mindful of other people and not add to their problems. I am praying this in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and my saviour. Amen

Scripture for Tuesday

Revelation 5:12 (NLT)

12 And they sang in a mighty chorus:
“Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered—
    to receive power and riches
and wisdom and strength
and honour and glory and blessing.”

Lord, I cry out to You today!

John 16: 33 ESV
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

This morning I needed to cry out to God, I needed to bring my fears, my problems and my anxiety to Him. I know when King David was facing difficult times, he would call out to God. Psalm 18 verse 6 he cries out "In my distress, I cried out to the Lord." I feel abandoned and all alone.

I will pray, about my circumstances, and I trust in the Lord. God is my refuge, and I can run to Him every day. Proverbs tells me that "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."

The Lord Jesus tells us that we will go through trials and tribulations. It's all part of our journey.
Paul speaks of disciplining his body, taking charge of it lest he falls. 1 Corinthians 9: 27 ESV: "But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified." I am trying to be obedient and trust in the Lord. Laying down my selfish motives and waiting for Him to move in my life.

I believe dying to self is going to bring suffering, which in the end will bring hope too. Jesus Christ overcame the world then so can I.

Prayer

Elohim Almighty God, You have heard my prayers this morning, I am struggling to overcome my flesh. Please, Lord, I need Your peace in my life today. I want to dedicate my husband into Your hands, bless him today. Guide him and take care of him in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Scripture for Monday

Remember people who have faith don't make sense, it's all about trusting in God, allowing Him to move into your heart.

Joshua 6:15-20 New Living Translation (NLT)

15 On the seventh day, the Israelites got up at dawn and marched around the town as they had done before. But this time they went around the town seven times. 16 The seventh time around, as the priests sounded the long blast on their horns, Joshua commanded the people, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the town! 17 Jericho and everything in it must be completely destroyed[a] as an offering to the Lord. Only Rahab the prostitute and the others in her house will be spared, for she protected our spies.
18 “Do not take any of the things set apart for destruction, or you yourselves will be completely destroyed, and you will bring trouble on the camp of Israel. 19 Everything made from silver, gold, bronze, or iron is sacred to the Lord and must be brought into his treasury.”

20 When the people heard the sound of the rams’ horns, they shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly, the walls of Jericho collapsed, and the Israelites charged straight into the town and captured it.

Scripture for Sunday - The of Jericho

Joshua 6:2-5 The Voice (VOICE)

Eternal One (to Joshua): I have given Jericho, its king, and all its soldiers into your hands. Every day for the next six days, you will march once around the city walls with all your fighting force. Seven priests will go in front of the covenant chest, each carrying a trumpet made from a ram’s horn. On the seventh day, you will march around the city walls seven times, and the priests will blow their trumpets. When they play along final blast, then all the people will give a mighty shout. The city walls will collapse in front of you, and all the Israelites will charge in and take the city.

Scripture for Saturday - The Coming of the Holy Spirit

Acts 2: 2 - 4 ESV
"And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance."

Scripture for Friday - Operating System of life

Acts 1: 8 ESV
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

"Jesus take, the Wheel - Carrie Underwood"

Matthew 16: 24 – 25

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. “For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”

I know it sounds so simple when we listen to Carrie Underwood singing her song Jesus take the Wheel. I actually have thought about it, I have given my life to the Lord Jesus, the question is have I truly surrender my life into the Lord's hands. Are there areas in my life that I am still the boss over and let Jesus just see from a distance?

We all have control over our lives and I know its sounds easy stating Jesus take the Wheel. I have decided today to truly surrender my life into the hands of Jesus Christ, my life, my finances, my relationships, my job, my friends, my family. I am not in control and that is so true, I think I might be but actually, that’s not true.

Prayer

Abba Father, please help me I don’t want to be the doormat to people who believe they have privileges. Lord because I try and do my best and keep my best foot forward doesn’t mean I am in good standing with You. If I need shaking up in my life, I know it's not easy but then I think You should shake me, let me wake up. I don’t even want to think of breaking because I feel I have been broken all over but if there is something that needs breaking please help me endure the pain and not lose faith. My prayer is that You will make me and change me into what You want me to be. I am praying this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
