Perseverance

2 Peter 1:6  New International Version (NIV)

and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;

I am currently a temp at a company and they are facing changes, the winds of change are rising up some standards for some and not for others.

Listening to them talk about their situation I feel sympathetic towards them but I can also see God’s hand at work in each one’s lives.  The person I really think has persevered is a lady that really went the extra mile and after a number of years she now faces the chance of being promoted.

It is clear to me that she persevered and God saw her heart and realized her dream of being promoted.  How awesome is our God, He promotes each of us as He sees fit.  It sad the others are angry and feeling resentment but they didn’t worry about her while they were moving up in life.  Now it’s through her perseverance that she finally is being rewarded for a job well done.

To describe her I want to refer to the above passage, ‘to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;’ this is so clear in her live.  She is a person who is self-controlled, she has persevered and she is wearing a garment of godliness.  Praise the Lord for her!

Take a chance on life!

Take a chance on life, love and your future!

It feels like I have missed out so much in my life and that I only recently woke up.  I was always so afraid of taking chances.  Risk seemed to be something I would not consider and it kept me locked up inside.

I met my school boyfriend after an interval in my life of 30 years plus.  I started changing and I started venturing out and taking chances.  My now husband is someone that seems to invite intrigue and wonder in my life.

The wonder of all things in the world and how it’s made and whether I am able to conquer it seems to drive me right now.  The challenge of writing and getting noticed is always so awesome and wonderful to see the number of ‘hits on my personal blog’.  The driving sense of being able to write a couple of spiritual words and my own thoughts and publishing it bring me a satisfaction I cannot explain.

Since I seem to feel so versatile I want to expand as much as possible and of course I was able to secure a temporary position with a company.  I realized the need for baking and I took the opportunity and started baking some cakes which I enjoy decorating.  I have sold a number of my cakes and the orders are still coming in.

Taking chances in my life right now is what I am all about.  The driving force behind me is the fact that I have someone that believes in me, that this man thinks the world of me and always helps me.  I cannot think of one reason why I shouldn’t take chances.

I am alive and my chance to expand is growing each day.  I am a chance taker with great opportunities.

Are you on your Damascus Road?

Acts 26 New International Version (NIV)

15 “Then I asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’
‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ the Lord replied. 16 ‘Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me. 17 I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them 18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

Are you on your Damascus Road?  Goals set and tasks at hand Paul and his companions were on their way to persecute a number of Christians.  Not knowing that Paul now was traveling into a destination of change.  A Pharisee with his mind made up against these Christians talking about the risen Christ.  He would purge them from this earth.

A supernatural encounter occurs, a bright light, lighter than the sun engulfs Paul and his companions pushing them to the ground.  In this light Paul hears a voice speaking to him in Aramaic, saying: ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.

Paul hears the voice stating that it is Jesus and Jesus now has appointed Paul as a servant and as a witness of what he has seen and will see of the LORD Jesus.

God sure does have a different perspective on life and He does come into our lives so differently.  It is my desire that the LORD will touch my life with His spirit and open my eyes to the Word of God.  Helping me to understand more and grow more but most of all so that I am able to become more like Jesus.

I want to be a vessel the Lord God is able to use as I don’t feel that I have the required skills and knowledge.  I feel that I let the Lord down constantly.

The Love of God

1 John 4:9Amplified Bible (AMP)

In this the love of God was made manifest (displayed) where we are concerned: in that God sent His Son, the only begotten or [a]unique [Son], into the world so that we might live through Him.

Lord Almighty God, of Israel as I think on this verse today, I want to pray for the full revelation and understanding that You sent Your only begotten or unique Son – Jesus Christ to die for my sins.  I believe that I have been saved and that I am going to heaven and I understand the costs involved.  I want to pray for a decrement in my own life revealing to me what my purpose in this world is.

Lord of Israel help me also be loving and kind, fill my heart and mind Lord with Your Holy Spirit so that I am able to move forward and keep the word of God in my own life.  Like fire and help me radiate it to all around me.
