‘Do it heartily,’

Colossians 3:23 KJV

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Have you heard the phrase “good help is hard to find”?  Yes I am sure you have, when someone does a job and they really have not excelled or done their best people normally make that statement.  I feel so irritated when people are given an instruction to do something and then you can see how half-heartedly they perform the task.

When I was a young girl both my parents would remind me that I should always strive to do my best in whatever I am doing.  If you do the dishes, do it to your best ability.

Today it is on my heart to encourage and remind you to be excellent, doing your best and remember its not for people but for the Lord.  It will be pleasing in the sight of the Lord and He will reward you in due course.  How?  You never know when you will be promoted or receive a bonus for a job well done.

You are a blessing and I believe we all are capable of being excellent at everything we do, so go and be excellent!!

Happy Birthday Mommy - your days are still important

#1 – 2 – 3 Great Weekends

As we approached the Town house I saw my mom walking towards the car she looked demure and pretty, and her graceful picture of black and white skinny pants and shirt let her stand out.  Her graceful appearance and the smile upon her face was absolutely glowing.

As I got out of the car and hugged her, kissed her and wished her a happy birthday.  She looked so happy to see me and my husband.  We all walked back toward the gated and greeted my stepdad whom himself looked so dashing.

God surely looked down upon us and it was clear we were where we were supposed to be this weekend.  She served us something to drink while we sat in front of the fire waiting for my sister to arrive we chatted.

Before long my sister arrived and we all enjoyed catching up and just having a wonderful time, the men braaied the meat and we all visited and enjoyed the beautiful day.

The day turned out excellent, everybody had such a lovely time.  We finally enjoyed our lunch and after cake we all took too the road.  Time was running out and we needed to go home.  Back to our normal routine filed days.

God has smiled upon my mom and I believe she will enjoy many, many more to come.  She is a blessing and a wonderful person.  Our lives will be empty without her in them.

The great weekends are still lying ahead of us and we are all looking forward to living excited lives.

Favor and Increase!

Jeremiah 29: 11 (NLT)

11  “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD, “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Are you waiting to come into the supernatural favor of our LORD?  We know that God will work together the right time and right people and circumstances for your and my success.

I too trust the LORD God to work in my favor, I want to build a legacy for my own children, in the mean time I am waiting on the LORD God.

As I sit here I believe the LORD God will work out something spectacular for me going forward, God knows my heart’s desire and my dreams.  God is working in my favor and I believe that I will receive increase to such an extent that I will be able to help others.

Take heart and be encouraged today, God is good and he has a good plan in place for both you and me.  Our future is favored by God.

Prayer

Abba Father we love You, not because You are able to change our circumstances because YOU are the only one we can trust.  Lord we worship and honor You today and thank You for breaks and opportunities You have placed before us and created open doors for our good.  In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

# rewiring my focus on the Lord Jesus Christ

Romans 13:10 New English Translation (NET Bible)
10 Love does no wrong to a neighbour. Therefore love is the fulfilment of the law.

Thinking about the function of rewiring anything, you need to take out all the old wires and then start replacing each wire one at a time.  This is a process and there may be turns and bends in awkward places.  I think about my own life right now and I believe God is really busy working in my own life.  I have never really felt the need to rewire my life according to the Word of God.  I was always under the impression that I was just fine.

This year I have come to a place in my life where I realized that I really and truly need ‘rewiring’ and this rewiring needs to come from the Lord my God.

Out of my own strength I doubt that I would be even able to change my viewpoint on any matter.  During this year I have begun with Bible reading, focusing on the New Testament.  My heart’s desire is to ‘first find the kingdom of God’.  This is where the rewiring will have to come in.

I pray each day that the Holy Spirit will inspire me, guide me and place a guard in front of my mouth.  I seem to mouth off and say hurtful things to people.  The more I focus on changing my way of talking the bigger problems I cause.  So note to you and self:  don’t try this on your own, speak to the Holy Spirit.  Ask for help.

This rewiring is taking a while, but I feel hopeful and believe God is working and the rewiring will be done in due course.  I realize that I cannot make the right changes, because I don’t know what really needs to be changed.  God is in control and will rewire me mind, and soul according to His will.
In the meantime I need to love and doing this I am fulfilling the law.

You are a blessing.

Prayer
Abba Father, O Lord my God to my mind I don’t believe I am capable of rewiring my own mind and focusing only on You.  I need Your help today, please Holy Spirit help me.  In Jesus name amen.

# Strike - did you hear?

Chatter inside the taxi as the people discuss the Strike Action.  As we near the Power Station the travel comes to almost a standstill.  Taxi’s and cars are both moving forward at a snail’s pace, and reaching the main road toward the station we see a tree stump placed across the road.  No one can drive through it forcing the taxi’s and cars to drive on the side of the road into the open veld.

Our taxi drives makes his way up the road but cannot go much further and finally coming to a halt.  The doors are opened and we get out of the taxi, walking up towards the main gate, people have gathered on both sides of the road, to my left and to my right people have parked their cars and standing outside waiting to see what is going to happen.

I look for some familiar faces and walk over towards them as I approach them we chat about the strike.  I ask one of the ladies ‘So what time will this be over, do you think we would be able to go in?’  She laughs at me and shakes her head as she answers me ‘No, it will never, never be over today.’  All the girls laugh as they carry on talking.  One of the young girls recites ‘My father was a gardener and my mother worked as a kitchen maid.  That’s why I am striking’ Ha ha all the girls laughed and danced.  Wow, this was interesting; I have never been so close to a strike in my entire life.

While we were standing next to the road, paper and beer bottles were strewn on the road, green broken glass everywhere.  I thought I would not drive here; I would want to puncher my cars wheels.  But I could hardly believe it when one of the protestors came racing up in a bakie and threw tires on the ground, not more than 5 meters away from us.  The next thing I see them lighting the tires, hmm this is serious.

I text my boss’s secretary that I am outside and cannot come into the property hoping she can do something from her side.  She texts me that I should walk up to the main gate my boss is there and will let me in.  Ha ha what a joke as I approach the protestors I get stopped ‘mam turn around and go back’.
The day drags on and the people increase in numbers when the police arrives they speak to the protestors and then drive away.

Now think on this for a minute there are no facilities to go to the bathroom.  I ask one of the girls so where do we go to the bathroom?  I need to go now.  They all pack up laughing, there is a tree, go behind it.  Hmmm that’s not nice, no I will hold it.  It’s only been 3 hours I am sure I will make it.  I hope.

Finally our taxi lets us know the guys want to leave I tell the girls that are with me the guys want to leave.  We all start walking down the road towards the taxi.  As I take my seat I must tell you it was a welcome feeling to actually sit down again.  I could feel my legs shaking, I am obviously not built to stand and more than 3 hours is definitely not my thing.

We leave the Power Station and go back home.  When I get home I feel a little guilty for not staying and trying to get into the Power Station.

This morning on my return to work I heard reports of people being shot, and locked up.  I was so glad we left at the time we decided.

The strike is still continuing and we are waiting to see what happens next.

My encouragement for you today is be grateful for your job, enjoy your work and do the best you can and see how God will raise you up.
