Scripture for Wednesday

Wait for the God of Salvation

Micah 7: 7 ESV

"But as for me,
I will look to the LORD;
I will wait for the God of my Salvation;
my god will hear me."

Do I just make things up or am I hearing from God?

Isaiah 40: 31 ESV

“but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength: they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

As a young person, I used to believe "its one thing after another." We were struggling financially. Now I realise that "life isn't one thing after another." I think when you are young, you are impatient. I want this right now I don't want to save up for that specific thing. When reading Isaiah 40 verse 31 "but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

It is clear that I never want to wait. The waiting part is just too long. Why wait when I can buy something on credit?

I believe I lacked Godly wisdom. I didn't truly trust the LORD wholeheartedly.
In perspective, those were difficult days because of my impatience. I did not consider, the bigger picture and I didn't check my budget.

I still struggle with being impatient. I draw my strength from the LORD. The process is learning to wait on the LORD and in waiting; I believe I can see the bigger picture.

Prayer

LORD, today I want to pray for the strength to wait for the best time to act. LORD, You know I am learning each day, help me to stay focused on You. LORD, I want to grow to maturity in Jesus Christ. Please LORD in Jesus Christ's name, Amen

Scripture for Monday

For to Us, a Child Is Born

Isaiah 9: 6 ESV

to us a son is given;

Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

Are you angry?

Matthew 18: 22 (KJV)

“Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, until seven times: but, until seventy times seven.”
Yes, I’m angry and have been for a couple of weeks, I am struggling to shake off this angry feeling and the person I am angry with is constantly doing their level best to irritate me. Pushing all my buttons and going out of their way to make me angry. I was thinking about this problem and it struck me the longer I feel resentment and feelings of carelessness towards this person the bigger the problem in my own life.

When my children were younger I would always say what would Jesus do? I thought about this matter today and I wonder if the Lord Jesus is watching me He must be disappointed in me. I am so angry at this person I cannot stay focused on the Lord. While I’m so angry I just cannot get around to praying and getting on with my life.

Today I want to stop this reaction towards this person, I am going to be friendly and keep them at a distance. I will forgive them and set them free. The Lord will work in their lives but in the meantime, I need to forgive them. So here goes, I forgive them. I set them free and I forgive myself too for not forgive me.

Prayer

Lord Abba Father, I know that when we are sincere in our prayers and come humbly into Your presence You hear our requests. I want to praise You and give You praise for the good things You bring into my life. Thank You, Lord, for all You have done for me. Lord, I humbly confess that I have become resentful against …. And this is causing bitterness to grow in my heart. I pray to forgive me, I forgive …… and set them free. Lord, I thank You for these revelations in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Kids that can’t be helped

Jeremiah 32: 33
“They would not listen or respond.”

The pain of watching these kids withdraw and hid in the house is like poison killing me. I must tell you I have never seen anything like this in my entire life. I thought all kids love to go out with their friends and have a good time. It’s not true, these kids sit in the house day in and day out. Watching TV and playing Xbox games.

I told my husband of a dream I had, we were driving on the Highway and all of a sudden we came across an accident. My eye caught a blue engine laying in the road and drove past it, then I looked up to the left of me I saw two people lying on the side of the road. The woman's face was cut in have and lay next to the road while the rest of her head and the top part of her body lay a little way from her. Her husbands head was decapitated and his head lay next to the road. His body lay in the distance with blood spurting out of his body.

I woke up feeling dreadful and started praying for my family and friends. I thought about this dream and I must tell you, I believe it means that I am watching how people are wasting their lives and in the end, it is going to be a disaster waiting for them.

Both my husband and I have been speaking to these kids and they just don’t listen to a word we say never mind respond. It's almost like speaking to a brick wall.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Lord You, know best, we have spoken to these two kids and are trying to get them to live their lives and to get jobs. Lord help us in Jesus name Amen.
