Scripture for Friday - Good Friday

James 3:2-8  (AMP) 2  For we all stumble and sin in many ways . If anyone does not stumble in what he says [never saying the wrong thing], he is a perfect man [fully developed in character, without serious flaws], able to bridle his whole body and rein in his entire nature [taming his human faults and weaknesses]. 3  Now if we put bits into the horses’ mouths to make them obey us, we guide their whole body as well. 4 And look  at the ships. Even though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are still directed by a very small rudder wherever the impulse of the helmsman determines. 5  In the same sense, the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things.  See [by comparison] how great a forest is set on fire by a small spark! 6  And the tongue is [in a sense] a fire, the very world of injustice and unrighteousness; the tongue is set among our members as that which contaminates the entire body, and...

Jesus Lord Jesus Your Holy Your Worthy

Today consider Revelations 3 verse 20 Jesus says:  "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me."  Think about this are there any areas of your life that you would like to invite the Lord Jesus to step into?  Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinful person, and I know that You are the Savior. Please forgive all my sins and remove all my shame. I invite You into my heart and ask that You be the LORD of my life. Lord, I'll follow You, all the days of my life, from today onwards. I pray this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. Amen RELATED RESOURCES: Join in today with a one-minute scripture, and a personal inspirational message, and prayer, with Yvette van Niekerk's book, Daily Devotional Ebenezer. Scripture for Friday

Keep oneself uncontaminated by the world. James 1:27 Amplified Bible  27 Pure and unblemished religion  [as it is expressed in outward acts]  in the sight of our God and Father is this:  to visit and look after the fatherless and the widows in their distress and to keep oneself uncontaminated by the [secular] world.

Whatever things you ask for in prayer.

https://kellan-publishing.selz.com/item/daily-devotional-ebenezer Mark 11:22-24 (AMP) 22  Jesus replied “Have faith in God [constantly]. 23  I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and [ a ] does not doubt in his heart [in God’s unlimited power], but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God’s will]. 24  For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you. Matthew 21:22 (AMP) 22  And whatever you ask for in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Philippians 2:15-16 (AMP) 15  so that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish in the midst of a [morally] crooked and [spiritually] perverted generation...

Scripture for Thursday

The Firstborn are Mine! Numbers 3: 11 - 13 Amplified Bible Again the LORD spoke to Moses, saying "Behold, I have taken the Levites from among the sons of Israel instead of and as a substitute for every firstborn, that is, the first that opens the womb among the Israelites. so the Levites shall be Mine, for all the firstborn are Mine. On the day that I killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated for Myself all the firstborn in Israel, both man and animal. They shall be mine: I am the LORD."

Scripture for Wednesday

They hid from the Face of God Genesis 3: 8-9 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool [afternoon breeze] of the day, so the man and his wife hid and kept themselves hidden from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to Adam, and said to him, "where are you?"
Psalm 130 is my prayer today LORD, God. The past couple of days LORD, I have been crying out to You. O, LORD! Hear my voice today. Please hear my cries for mercy. O, LORD, I need help. LORD if you should mark all my iniquities, who am I to stand before YOU?  I know with YOU there is forgiveness so that You may be feared. I am waiting for YOU, LORD, my soul waits, and in Your Word, I hope; my soul waits for the LORD more than watchmen for the morning, more than watchmen for the morning.  O Israel, hope in the LORD! For with the LORD, there is steadfast love, and with YOU LORD is plentiful redemption. And YOU will redeem Israel from all his iniquities. Amen

Israel's Joy and Restoration Zephaniah 3: 17 ESV "The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save: he will rejoice over you with gladness: he will quiet you by his love: he will exult over you with loud singing."

Scripture for Wednesday

Wait for the God of Salvation Micah 7: 7 ESV "But as for me, I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my Salvation; my god will hear me."

Do I just make things up or am I hearing from God?

Isaiah 40: 31 ESV “but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength: they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” As a young person, I used to believe "its one thing after another." We were struggling financially. Now I realise that "life isn't one thing after another." I think when you are young, you are impatient. I want this right now I don't want to save up for that specific thing. When reading Isaiah 40 verse 31 "but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." It is clear that I never want to wait. The waiting part is just too long. Why wait when I can buy something on credit? I believe I lacked Godly wisdom. I didn't truly trust the LORD wholeheartedly. In perspective, those were difficult days because of my impatience. I d...
