Come Lord Jesus, Come we pray!

This month I want to focus on the Lord Jesus Christ birth and the knowledge that we are saved by grace through the Lord Jesus Christ.  I want to think about what it must be to have the surety that when we move on into the eternal life we are in God’s house with the Lord Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit and Father God.

John 1:  12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God –

A meeting was called in heaven and God had it minuted that the Angel Gabriel was to go to earth and speak to the young virgin girl Mary who was pledge to be married to a man named Joseph.  Mary was cleaning the house when she heard a knock on her parents front door.  On opening the door she saw the Angel Gabriel.  ‘Greeting, you who are highly favoured!  The Lord is with you.’ Gabriel greeted her.  Mary ‘good day sir, please come in and sit down.  May I offer you something to drink.’  The angel came into the house and sat down. ‘Mary don’t be afraid, you have found favour with God.  You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name of Jesus.  He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.  The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, his kingdom will never end.’  Eyes wide Mary said ‘How can that be I am a virgin?’  Blushing as she looked at the angel Gabriel.  Gabriel looked at her and said ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you.  So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.  Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth mount.  For nothing is impossible with God.’

Mary answered ‘I am the Lord’s servant, may it be to me as you have said.’  The Angel Gabriel smiled at her and said he needed to leave.

Mary quickly got ready and left her home to go and visit Elizabeth.  When she got to Zechariah’s house she called out ‘Good afternoon Elizabeth.’  When Elizabeth heard Mary’s voice the baby in her womb leaped.  Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and in a loud voice she exclaimed ‘Blessed are you among women, and blessed I the child you will bear!’  She turned and looked at Mary ‘why am I so favoured, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for you.  Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished.’

We are going into the season of joy and I want to encourage you today to keep your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  We are His children bought by His blood.

May you have a blessed day and may the peace, joy and love of the Lord follow you this month and the coming year.

Rejoice in the Lord!!!

Like you, I am also writing my own biography.   The main topic in my biography obviously will be me and my focus will be on God.   I believe my reason for living is firstly to worship and praise the Lord my God.  In Psalms 34 we are reminded to Praise the Lord at all times.  Today, it is my desire to worship and praise the Lord with my lips, with my whole being I want to go out and praise the Lord my God.  Come with me and let us give glory to the Lord our God.  Let us praise His name together.

Psalms 34: 1 – 3 ‘I will praise the Lord at all times; his praise is always on my lips.  My whole being praises the Lord.  The poor will hear and be glad.  Glorify the Lord with me, and let us praise his name together.’

As it is written in Thessalonians 5, rejoice always.  I want to make this my one and only purpose in life and that is to rejoice always in the Lord my God.   The Lord God is so wonderful and He looks after all of us.  What are we without Him?  Nothing, we cannot do anything for ourselves and we need to stay at His feet.  You too are building your relationship with the Lord our God, drawing closer and closer to Him each and every day.  I have to take the time in the mornings, drawing from the word of God, growing spiritually and not letting go.  In holy prayer I am seeking His will in my own life.

1 Thessalonians 5: 16 ‘Rejoice always.’

Taking this command from the Bible, I will rejoice always in my Lord God.  I will praise the Lord with my whole being, I want to ask you to hear and be glad with me.  Let us praise the Lord’s name together.

Nehemiah 8: 10 ‘the joy of the Lord is your strength.’

Lord Jesus Christ you are my joy and my strength, I dedicate my life into Your hands today, asking You to lift me up and hold  me close to You.  Never, Lord, never let me go as I feel I am nothing without You.  I declare and state boldly You Lord Jesus Christ is my everything, my future lay in Your hands.  I am successful through You Lord Jesus, I am prosperous, I am financially stable, I have more and more because of You Lord.

Thank You

Lord thank You
For the loving husband you have placed in my life.

Thank you for the joy of being able to spend time in Your presence knowing;
he loves me and understands my need to grow spiritually.
Thank you for the peace I feel when drawing closer and closer to You Lord Jesus,
the patience my husbands has with my fickleness.
Thank You Lord for Your mercy and kindness
You let me live another day.
Your Word is true and I love You Lord
for being faithful and allowing me to face yet another day.
Thank You Lord in humility,
and gentleness I stand here hands held high, praising you Lord.
I love you
and thank You
for my beautiful husband
and family You allowed me to have.

All in Jesus Name

Are you doing what God called you to do?

Today is a lazy summer’s day in Witbank, South Africa.  It has been raining all day and I was so frustrated yesterday, when I got home from work I couldn’t do my laundry.  There was no water as usual.  I was so frustrated that I actually broke down and cried.  To top it off we went out the evening to my husband’s Works Christmas function.  It was nice; the people are very different to what I thought.  We had photos taken and had a lovely relaxing evening.

As we were having dinning we received a call from Alezandra, my husband’s daughter.  She was very upset as something bad had happened to one of the kittens.  Unfortunately the poor kitten is not going to make it, a chair fell on its head and blood came out of it mouth and nose.  She has since tried to keep it warm and make sure it will live.  I don’t believe it is going to but I cannot make the decision to take the kitten from her.  I feel sorry for her suffering and don’t know how long the poor kitten is going to fare.

Just do what God has called you to do, ‘Stay within the [boundaries] of the work which God has set for you’ 2 Corinthians 10:13

I have been assigned to looking after my husband and two young children.  My children are all grown up and I thank the Lord that I can entrust them in God’s hands.  I believe and know that God will keep them all safe.  Now it is my job to ‘pay careful attention to my own work, for then I will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and I won’t need to compare myself to anyone else.’  Galatians 6: 4

Being the very competitive and ambitious kind of woman, I am constantly measuring myself against other people.  I normally think that I am capable and am in control over my life but as of late I feel in adequate and very incompetent.

For me to make my life a success I feel that I have no other options but to draw near to God.  I have to clothe myself with the Fruit of the Spirit.  Take up the job God called me to do and work to the best of my abilities.  So for the next couple of days and months I am going to have to focus on Love, in looking for the highest good in others.  Relax and start enjoying my life, being glad that my circumstances aren’t that bad.  I am looking for peace in my life and I am praying the Lord will help me to stay content, and be united with my husband and new children.  As for my patience, I am learning to slow down and not speak my mind and not allow myself to become angry so often.  Being kind and merciful, sweet, and tender isn’t something I can do well so I would have to really work at this.  I don’t mind being generous and open hearted so I think I have some goodness in me.  I know that I am faithful to my God and especially to my family and husband.  I know that one can depend on me, I am too loyal.  Humility is something I am really focusing on lately, so my gentleness and calm is something I am dealing with in my own way.  Self-control is really difficult so I have to watch my behaviour lately.

Are you doing better than me?  Let me know what you are doing different, I am looking to learn and improve in my own life.

Sexuality

1 Corinthians: 6: 18 – 20
‘Flee sexual immorality.  Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.  Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?  For you were brought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.’

It is my heart’s desire that my husband and I both have a pure heart when it comes to our sexuality.  May we both enjoy being with each other.  I want to pray that the Lord will keep us and protect us from indifference, displeasure, condemnation, busyness, un-forgiveness, numbness, or disinterest.

1 Thessalonians 4: 3 – 5 ‘It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honourable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God;’

May the Lord create a desire within my husband to always dire me and not anybody else, not in imagination or physically.  May the Lord create the same desire within my own heart towards my husband, that we would love and honour each other till the day we die.
