#Wednesday - Witch Craft – Fact or Fiction?

Today I was totally intrigued by what I was hearing from my colleagues at work.  It seems that ‘Witch craft’ is alive and well in our day and age.
As I listen to her story my mouth hangs open.  She said her uncle was married to her aunt and there was a younger woman that was totally smitten with her uncle.  This young woman went to the Sam Goma and asked him for a spell called ‘Bheka mina ngedwa’ – ‘Only look at me’.

This woman used the potion and my friend’s uncle started perusing this young woman.  His wife tried to save their marriage but to no avail.  He divorced her and paid ‘labola’ to marry this young woman.  This man was a high ranking Police official and work in Pretoria.  The young woman was worried that he may start looking around and went back to the Sam Goma to renew the potion.

The result for the uncle was devastation; he was so fixated on the young wife that he would follow her all around the house.  He went on AWOL at work and stay home to watch his beautiful wife.

If she left the house to go shopping they would find him sitting crying at the gate because she left him behind.  He feared that she was going to stay away and never returned.

This potion was so strong that he finally left his job and stayed home to ‘only look at her’.

Apparently he died of diabetes a couple of years into the marriage.  It seems she is still busy with her potions.

Next Wednesday I will tell you about another lady who also had a bad experience with ‘Witch craft.’

Fact or fiction?

Adds length to life

Proverbs 3:1-2 Lexham English Bible (LEB)
Wisdom and Piety
3 My child, do not forget my instruction,
and may your heart guard my commands.
For length of days, years of life,
and peace they shall add to you.

As I meditate and focus on these words of wisdom and piety I want to encourage you today.  The Lord God reminds us to keep His instructions and we must guard His commands with our hearts.  This will increase our day and add years to our life with peace in our lives.

Each person is aging day by day we cannot stop the process but once you have become a Christian and have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into your life, you will become younger through the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit renews each of us from within.

I want to praise God and thank Him for the knowledge and the renewing of my mind.  I know that I am nothing without God.  I remind you and myself today ‘If God is all I have, I have all I need.’ John 14: 8

Prayer
Abba Father, I love You Lord God with all my heart, body and soul, Lord as I take this word to heart today, I pray Holy Spirit help me to stay focused on Your instructions and to guard your commands with my heart, in the name of Jesus.  Amen

Bless each of my Children

Hebrews 11:21 Lexham English Bible (LEB)

21 By faith Jacob, as he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.

In faith today I want to bless each one of my own children.  I have been blessed with three beautiful, successful and talented children of my own.  I also have the responsibility of taking care of two step children.

I am not dying, thank goodness but it is my heart’s desire that each of my children will be blessed and be a blessing in the future.  May the Lord God Almighty bless each of my children and stepchildren and keep them.

Lord God Almighty will make shine His face on you and be gracious to you; Lord God Almighty will lift up His face upon you, and He will give you peace.  May the Lord God Almighty put His name on each of my children, and God Lord Almighty will bless them.

Prayer

Abba Father, I am not dying but in my living life I do want to appeal to You today to please bless each one of my children and step children.  Lord I ask that Your face will shine upon them, that You will keep them safe and may they all serve You Lord.  In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, Amen

#Tuesday { Heart – to – heart }

Attitude meter

My dad always used to say ‘your attitude determine your altitude’ and that is so true, if you have a bad attitude it will bring you down from where you find yourself.  You just cannot do things and are in an impossible mood.  You cannot focus and life seems to be too difficult to deal with.

Watching a TV drama they showed how the pilot of the plain tried to level the plain according to the ‘attitude meter’.  While watching this it reminded me that each and every day we need to level out our attitudes.  You need to have some sort of balance in your own life.  No one can be chirpy all day long, it just isn’t natural (I would start wondering what’s the person taking).

How do I level out my attitude?

1                 Balance in life is important and I believe in starting my day right, with prayer and focusing on my daily word for the day.
2                 Reminding myself ‘that no one is out to get me’; people don’t always have a hidden agenda, trust them.
3                 Being friendly and understanding is important, it changes other peoples point of view in that instance.
4                 Stay focused on the positive, dismiss the negative and keep up at working at excellence.

You are a blessing, God has a purpose for you today, keep your attitude positive, smile and work on your excellence.

‘The thing you hate the most, will come to you.’

Job 3: 25 Young’s Literal Translation

25 For a fear I feared and it meeteth me, And what I was afraid of doth come to me.

I watch people and I love to think that it is well with all people, I look at the way they walk and talk and it makes me believe that they actually don’t have a care in the world.  How totally wrong!  Of course each of us are facing some difficulty, there could be someone sick at home, or financial crisis.  But we have the ability to hide our emotions and looking in from the outside it seems well with my soul.

I also used to say ‘the thing you hate the most will come upon you’ and it actually did.  Drugs are something I despised and the sad part it destroyed my family.  The person that was involved with drugs didn’t come to realize the destruction he caused.

Sadly we cannot turn back time and go and fix our mistakes, we all have learned from this destructive mechanism and since moved on.  It took a very long time to get over the hurts and disappointments but by God’s grace we have moved on.

Lessons learned:
*)  never speak about the things you hate, it comes to you.
*)  Nothing is in stone and live can and does throw you a curve ball, catch it.
*)  Deal with it and move one, let go of bitterness and learn to forgive.
