‘He can hear you when you call!’

Isaiah 59:1Living Bible (TLB)

59 Listen now! The Lord isn’t too weak to save you. And he isn’t getting deaf! He can hear you when you call!

When I read this passage I am reminded on something that was happening to me while I was still struggling to find my feet.  I work for someone that was a perfectionist and this manager of mine used to have me in tears each and every day.  I used to cry all the time, my ex-husband was making my life difficult and this man was even worse.

One day I just could not take it anymore and I cried out to the Lord and asked Him please help me.  The pressure was getting to me; my hair was falling out and I had become thin and miserable.

As I sat in my car reading God’s word I was praying for some sort of relief.  I went back to my office and in the bathroom washed my face and back to my desk.  Just as I sat down I received a call, someone was inviting me to come for an interview.  Awesome, God heard my prayers and I got the job.

Prayer
Heavenly Father thank You that You aren’t too weak to save me.  Thank You that You aren’t getting deaf and thank You that You hear when I call on You, in Jesus Holy Name.  Amen

And suddenly!

Isaiah 48:3Living Bible (TLB)

Time and again I told you what was going to happen in the future. My words were scarcely spoken when suddenly I did just what I said.

This words still holds true for me, I was out of a job for a long time and thing just did not go my way.  I thought I had favor with people and it just wasn’t true.  I had people stab me in the back and left me out to die so to speak.

Each day I would take time and mediate on God’s Word, I would sit outside next to the swimming pool and read my Bible out load.  I heard God’s word and then suddenly I received a phone call asking me if I would like to come and work for a couple of months.

Suddenly I had a job and I am good at my job.  I have favor with people I didn’t even know I had.  God worked supernaturally in my favor.  Life is good and I am expecting more and more suddenly favour from my living God.

Prayer
Lord God thank You that You time and again reminded me that my future is in Your hands.  Thank You Lord that Your words were scarcely spoken when suddenly YOU did just what You said.  In Jesus Name Amen

I will uphold you

Isaiah 41:10Living Bible (TLB)

10 Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed. I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.

The past couple of years I had to stay home because I just could not secure a job and I really need to tell you that staying home wasn’t that easy for me.  You have so much time to think it really can be scary.

In the beginning I kept myself busy with cleaning house and maintaining the washing and ironing.  But after a while I became really good at it and I would do this in a couple of hours and not all day.

I started to develop a strange fear, I was afraid of leaving my house and just popping out to the shops for necessities.  I sat one day really overwhelmed and fear gripped my heart when I realized that I had go shopping.  I took my Bible and I opened it at Isaiah 41 and my eyes rested on verse 10.

I felt empowered and with fear in my heart I decided to go out and do my shopping and face the world again.

Prayer
O Lord God, please don’t let us become so cut off from this world that we become fearful and let us know that You will uphold us each and every day with Your victorious right hand.  We praise Your Holy Name in Jesus Name, Amen

‘I can do everything …’

Philippians 4:13 Living Bible (TLB)

13 for I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me the strength and power.

One thing I appreciate in life is people with an ‘I can do everything …’ mentality.  It is such a pleasure to work with people who are willing to do their best and try new things.  The gift of being able to work hard and preserve is so important in our day and age.

I worked at a great company with really a good value system.  It was expected that when you passed a desk and the managers or personal assistant wasn’t at the desk at the time of a ringing phone, that you would stop and answer the call and take a message.  It was also expected that when you walk down the passage and a piece of paper or tissue lay on the floor that you would bend down and pick it up and dispose of it.

This ‘I can do everything …’ mentality excelled the company to reach the top of the ladder quickly.  Make this your mantra ‘I can do everything God asks me with the help of Christ who give me the strength and power.’  You cannot fail!

Prayer
Lord Jesus we know we are able to do all things through You whom strength us and give us the necessary power.  Lord we thank You today and worship at Your feet.  Amen

‘do not be afraid’

Matthew 1:20Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

20 But as he was thinking this over, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, descendant of David, do not be afraid to take Mary [as] your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of (from, out of) the Holy Spirit.

Feeling overwhelmed as I look at the stack of work placed on my desk I wanted to cry.  As I looked at the stack I was worried that I would not complete the task before the end of the next day.  My friend and colleague encouraged me to take it ‘one tree at a time, don’t look at the forest.’

Can you imagine what went through Joseph’s heart when he realized Mary was pregnant.  I am sure he must have also felt worried and concerned knowing he didn’t impregnate her.  Then we see God intervenes on behalf of Mary and encourages Joseph to marry her.

Today as you start your day, I want to encourage you ‘do not be afraid’ the Lord has never failed me or forsaken me, He will not forsake you either.  The Holy Spirit is within each one of us helping and encouraging us today.

Prayer
Lord Jesus thank You that You are with us each and every day, thank You for encouraging us not to be afraid and to take each day as it comes our way.  Bless our hands and minds with Your loving kindness.  Amen
