‘What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger’

2 Corinthians 4: 8-9 (NIVUK)

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.

In real life we all face interesting and difficult times in our lives, your job is coming to an end, you don’t know whether you will find something else in time.  Your children drive you crazy and just don’t listen.  Your finances are in a state and you just don’t see how you are going to cope with the bills.  The list is endless, then you may have heard this song ‘What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger!’

As Christians, life is just as difficult and I believe sometimes even worse than not being a Christian.  It seems we seem to see more ‘flames’ than most people.  Our pressure grows and because we are Christians, it seems more intense.  I remember telling my one friend that I really don’t want to be elastic.  She asked me why, I said ‘I think God pulls me out, out, out and it seems I am going to break.  Just like elastics.’  She turned around say ‘No, God gives you what you can handle that very minute.’  True.

A common destiny for all ~ Wednesday saga

Ecclesiastes 9:7 (NIVUK)
Go, eat your food with gladness, and drink your wine with a joyful heart, for God has already approved what you do.

Something I realized today, I used to be so worried about my weight and what I look like that I used to deprive myself of eating a real proper meal.  Lately I eat and enjoy good food, the taste of some of the food I enjoy makes my mouth water when I think about it.  I have become a little plumb but hey, I am in my fifties, my goodness I don’t want to look like a rake any more.

God has blessed me with some nice foods to enjoy, and I want to enjoy it, food makes everybody happy even me.  So enjoy your food, love your life and know God blessed you to live your best life now.  So for those who are plumb – you are gorgeous darling.  You are!!

Enjoy today, we are celebrating heritage day, I am supposed to represent Zimbabwe, but I didn’t realize the colors I chose are actually Tanzania or Brazil.  Oh, well, they don’t mind I love the colors.

God within me!

Isaiah 12:2

'Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord Himself, is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation.'

Coping with my emotions ~ Tuesday Saga

1 Corinthians 13:4 (NIVUK)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

Sure other people life their lives and I wonder if anybody has as many regrets as I do, I feel that I have let down so many important people in my life.  The fact that I ‘love’ them wasn’t enough I always did what I felt was right and important for me.

Growing up and living my life I learned how to fend for myself, stand up for myself, protect myself and always make sure I won, regardless of how.

Today my heart is broken because it was all about me, not about ‘love’.  Love is patient, Love is kind.  O my, what a lot of emotions to deal with.  How am I to overcome my selfishness?

Prayer
Abba Father in humility I pray asking forgive me for my selfishness, for hurting so many people and not learning to love them in the way You deem fit.  Teach me going forward to love people and treat them with respect in Jesus Name. Amen

I Rejoice in the LORD my God! Please send us rain!!!

Joel 2: 23 NLT

Rejoice, you people of Jerusalem! Rejoice in the Lord your God! For the rain he sends demonstrates his faithfulness. Once more the autumn rains will come, as well as the rains of spring.

In our country ; South Africa, there are so many parts of our land in trouble because of the drought, we need urgently need rain.  We have experienced a little rain here and there but we are still praising the Lord our God!  We are waiting for the rain.  Rain is truly needed in our country.

Because I don’t know how else to worship and praise You Lord, I will bring You honor and worship You.  Thank You for hearing our calls for rains, we praise Your Holy Name.  You are everything, we bless You Lord and worship You day and night.  Praise and Glory and Honor to Your Holy Name, In the name of Jesus Christ.

Praise
Praise the Lord, all of us will praise the Lord, we worship and praise You Lord God, we worship You with every breath and we thank You Lord for today and we worship You.  Amen

My heart condition ~ Monday Saga

Galatians 5:6 (NLT)

For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love.

Sometimes in life we can be stubborn and not want to express love towards people, they either disappoint us or really make us angry.  My heart condition has been negative for two days now, I have a really bad attitude and it is my heart’s desire that the Lord Jesus Christ will help me get rid of my negative attitude.

Faith in my life is what drives my spiritual life and I normally love most people but lately I have been really disappointed by people close to me.  I feel betrayed and hurt and really disillusioned.  Then the fact that I am supposed to be someone that has loads of self-control, watching my mouth and being a true Christian is squarely on my shoulders, so how now?

Prayer

Abba Father, I don’t feel like I have the necessary faith to get through this day, I lack the self-control, I lack the compassion and understanding needed to face today, I lack being kind and most of all loving.  Please forgive me, I know that I must just drop this thing and move on.  You are the one that knows all, I pray I forgive this person and I pray please help me move forward in the Name Of Jesus Christ.  Amen

Thought for today Monday :-)

Mary:  "I heard people saying that you don't care about anybody not even yourself."

Me:  "Tell my why where they so comfortable telling you all these things?"

(Should I trust Mary?)
