Learning how to pray

Good morning dear reader, I am learning to pray to the LORD, I have done this for many years and thought I would structure my prayers and see if this is something you too would like to use.
1. Honour and Worship God (Adoration) We need to start by honouring who God is, not first asking for things. This turns my heart toward Him and reminds me of His greatness. I try praise His character, His creation, and His love. Example: “I will ponder all Your work, and meditate on Your mighty deeds.” Psalm 77:12 Abba Father, I honour and worship You. You are holy, mighty, and full of love. When I look at Your creation: the sky, the earth, the living creatures; I see Your greatness. Thank You for being my God and for knowing my name. Purpose: This places me and my heart in awe and gratitude before God. 2. Confession and Humility Next, gently opening my heart honestly before God. Ask forgiveness and invite Him to cleanse my heart. Example Scripture: “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” Psalm 139:23 Prayer example: LORD, I confess that I am not perfect. Please forgive my sins and purify my heart. Remove anything in me that does not please You. Help me to live a life that honours You. Purpose: This keeps your heart clean and humble before the LORD. 3. Thanksgiving Now thank God for what He has already done. Gratitude strengthens faith. I want to thank Him for: • life • provision • family • work • protection • answered prayers Example: LORD, I thank You for Your goodness and mercy in my life. Thank You for my family, my work, and for always providing for my needs. Thank You that You Walk with me every day. Scripture example: “Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever.” Purpose: Thanksgiving shifts your heart from worry to trust. 4. Intercession (Praying for Others) This is where I bring people before God. Praying for: • blessings • protection • salvation • direction • healing Example: LORD, today I bring my family and friends before You. I place them under the protection of the blood of Jesus Christ. Then I pray Scripture like: “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn His face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26 Purpose: This makes you a faithful intercessor for others. 5. Personal Requests and Surrender Finally, bring my needs, worries, and hopes before God. But end with trust, not fear. Example: LORD, You know my needs. I place my work, my finances, and my concerns in Your hands. Please open doors for meetings and opportunities today. I trust that You will provide at the right time. Scripture: “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 Purpose: You release your burdens and rest in God's care. A Simple summary of my Daily Prayer Pattern Like this: Worship: Honour God Confession: Clean heart Thanksgiving: Gratitude Intercession: Pray for others Supplication: Your needs I also us the ACTS prayer pattern: • Adoration • Confession • Thanksgiving • Supplication Keeping in mind that God is not looking for perfect words. He is listening to a sincere heart. I was hoping this might help you when you stay focused and pray to the LORD Jesus, have a beautiful and blessed day. Warm regards Yvette

2nd Wedding Anniversary!

Hey, hey it is my 2 nd anniversary!   This has been an interesting time in my life and I must be honest I am starting to see the changes in my own life.    Firstly remember I am a city girl with this bad ass attitude, my way or the highway.   Ah, now let me tell you that doesn’t work like this.   My husband has a firm hand over me and keeps me in toe.   I am still my own person and have many new interests.    How was my day today?   Well the normal, got out of bed at 04h30 and then left the house by 06h00 arriving at work at 07h00.   Then to top it off in an early morning meeting at 07h30 to 08h30, then back in the office.   I worked on three projects; getting information from people isn’t that easy.   I firstly completed my own scope of work, followed up with the suppliers and then going back to the next person.   As I work according to my time keeping schedule I then finally got to lunch time.   I...

~ Reach Out if You Wish to Succeed ~ Galatians 5:13 – “By love, serve one another.”

Gentle reader, Permit me to offer this quiet truth: success does not arrive on satin cushions, announced by trumpets or tapping politely at your parlour door. No — it is more elusive, more noble in its pursuit. It often hides itself behind connections yet to be made, and relationships yet to be pursued. To flourish in this life, one must be bound — not by title or fortune — but by divine connection. For those who are destined to elevate you may not arrive unbidden. More often, it is you who must summon the courage to seek them out. Let us consider the evidence: Why is the newspaper sold on every corner, and the soda machine placed on every floor? Because success is positioned where the people are. Even our beloved Lord, Jesus — did He sit upon a high throne in a palace, declaring, “Only here may you find Me?” Certainly not. He moved among the people — to the market stalls, along the dusty shores where fishermen cast their nets, into the synagogues and modest homes. “He went through...
