What motivates you? #Courage #Strength #Fear #Prayer #God’s #Word

Psalm 27: 1 KJV
“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

I have been focusing on learning more about the LORD Jesus Christ of Nazareth and what backs the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth Name.   I must tell you I will stand on His name and fear no more.  I am entitled to so much more but because I have allowed fear and doubt into my life I find myself in an awkward position.

The thing is we need to learn to confess what God’s word #Bible teaches us, but because we allow other people to impart into our lives we don’t find out for ourselves.  We accept people's point of view and what they believe and almost always suck it up as “truths.” Are you facing a difficult time, are you feeling fearful, because you have the lack of finances, you fear unemployment, perhaps you fear being rejected.  Come and see how King David dealt with fear.

Kind David taught me a great lesson and I am going to keep this in mind going forward.  Fear was knocking at the door of his mind and he said: “whom shall I fear?”  In the very same sentence he asks “of whom shall I be afraid?”  Turning his mind back to God he said “my heart shall not fear” and then confession “in this will I be confident.”  Kind David must have sat down and meditated a while and decided to deal with fear head on.

King David prayed and said “One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.”

Still mediating and speaking to the LORD; King David prayed “teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.  Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breath out cruelty.”

King David ends his prayer “Wait on the LORD; be of good courage and he sahll strenghten thine heart:  wait, I say, on the LORD.” We can come in good courage and strenght knowing God will help our efforts.

A love affair #Jesus #Christ

Proverbs 31: 30
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.”

How is your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth these days?  Would you say the minute you open your eyes in the morning the Lord Jesus Christ is on your mind?  Or when you wake up the first thing you think on is a nice hot cup of coffee?

In the beginning when you just became a born again Christian where you thinking of the Lord in the early hours of the morning?

Today I want to encourage you to rekindle your “love affair with the Lord Jesus.”  Start doing the things you did in the beginning.  I wanted to know everything about the Lord Jesus; I made it my business to read my Bible when and where I could.  I sat in my car during lunchtime reading page after page.  I then made it my business to learn as much as I could about the Lord Jesus.

At night before I went to bed regardless of the time I would first go and read a chapter or two, writing my thoughts and prayers in my Journal.

While we study God’s word we are renewing our minds, our souls are growing spiritually and the Holy Spirit is revealing new truths to us.

Today, be encouraged, rekindle your love affair with the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  You are a blessing,  my beloved.

I crave for You #Lord #Jesus #Christ

John 15:5  (KJV)
“I am the vine, ye are the branches:  He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:  for without me ye can do nothing.”

John 1: 14 – 18 (KJV)
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, [and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only-begotten of the Father,] full of grace and truth.  John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, this was he of whom I spoke, He that cometh after me is preferred before me:  for he was before me.  And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.  For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.  No man hath seen God at any time; the only-begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”

Today I want to encourage you to turn back to the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  We seem to forget the full power we have in the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  What we do not realize is that God the Father sent the Lord Jesus Christ to die on a cross for our sins.  The Father loved us some much that He sent His only begotten son the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth to die on the cross for each one of us.

Today I want to remind you that we need the Lord Jesus Christ each and every minute in our lives.  We need the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth to accomplish what He wants in our own lives.

As you think and focus on the Lord Jesus Christ you can start by praising His name, giving Him glory and calling Him back into Your lives.

What I like to do is write and speak my mind on my laptop, I sit down and think about the Lord Jesus, and I confess all the things I feel is keeping me away from Him.  I also go and speak to the Lord about what I am facing and my difficulties.  My prayer is that the Lord Jesus is changing me one day at a time.

#Jesus #Christ

Acts 2:38-40 (ICB)
38 Peter said to them, “Change your hearts and lives and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 This promise is for you. It is also for your children and for all who are far away. It is for everyone the Lord our God calls to himself.”
40 Peter warned them with many other words. He begged them, “Save yourselves from the evil of today’s people!”

I say we are too caught up in our own little worlds, we believe that we are capable of so much and that when times are difficult then we call on the Lord Jesus.  When nothing happens and we do not receive answered prayers we lose hope and start looking for new ways to get out of the mess we find ourselves in.

In the International Children’s Bible we read that “change your hearts and lives and be baptized,”  the words that stood out for me is “change your hearts and lives.”  I have been thinking about these words.  Something my husband constantly is talking about is “if the results you get from doing something in a specific way isn’t producing any fruit then go and change your approach and do it differently.”

Something else that I must tell you I picked up is by whose name?  Are you seeing it: “In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ?”  I believe we have lost the knowledge and wisdom and insight concerning how powerful the Lord Jesus Christ’s name truly is.

Without faith, we are lost but more so without the Lord Jesus Christ, we will never get to heaven.

Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus I call out Your name.  Bless each person today reading my devotional in Jesus Christs Holy Name.  Amen

Bless the Lord O my soul #Jesus #Blessing

Romans 12: 2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Bless the Lord O, my soul, I want to learn to draw near to You Lord Jesus.  As I focus and read these word, please help me not to be conformed to the pattern of this world.  Please help me to be transformed by renewing my mind.  So that I will be able to test and approve what God's will is.  His good, pleasing and perfect will.

Delight yourself in the Lord! #Praise #Jesus

Psalm 37: 4

"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart."

It has been a difficult - hard day for me.  I have been on my feet since 06:00 am this morning and tonight I feel I need to jump into bed and just sleep.

Then I realize I have one priority and that is to delight myself in the Lord Jesus, He is my all in all, I so love and adore Him.  He is always there for me.  I want to take this time in worshiping the Lord, telling Him how much I love and adore Him.

Lord, You are everything to me.  I love and adore You, with every beat of my heart.  Thank You for another day.  You are my all in all.  I praise and worship You.  Lord Jesus.

“Calm the storm within your own life.” #Holy #Spirit #Love #Sanctuary

Exodus 25: 8
8 Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.

God is dwelling among us right now.  I believe the minute we have received the Lord Jesus as our God and savior He comes into our lives, living within us.  We are set apart and we need to be reminded that God chose each one of us.

Remember God called you by name, you are His.  We are sealed with the Holy Spirit and that makes each one of us different and Holy.

It is my heart’s desire to draw near to God each and every day.  I want to become more and more like the Lord Jesus, and I know I have the ability.  My challenge is practicing and focusing on this each and every day.  I don’t want my relationship to be a religious practice and I don’t want to be someone doing everything out of habit.  My habits are almost set in stone, I stick to what I am used to.

Over the weekend I received a word from God telling me to “Calm the storm!  Turn back to the Lord Jesus.”  I have been so busy with all kinds of things, cooking, cleaning, washing dishes, washing, and ironing.  The list goes on and on, I am physically tired when I go to bed.  I just don’t seem to have a 5-minute break, I am constantly moving.

May you “calm your storm” today and turn your focus back to the Lord Jesus.  Build a sanctuary for the Lord God to come and inhabit.  Let God take residence in Your life, life with you and make you holy.

Prayer

O Lord God, as you instructed the Israelites to build You a sanctuary so that You could take up residence with them and be in the midst of the Israelites, today we pray.  Holy Spirit comes and take up residence within our lives.  We are living stones and we sacrifice our selfishness to You asking to forgive us.  In Jesus Holy Name.  Amen

Are you sealed? #Holy #Spirit #Sealed

Ephesians 1:13 Names of God Bible (NOG)
13 You heard and believed the message of truth, the Good News that he has saved you. In him, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit whom he promised.
Well, are you sealed with the Holy Spirit?  I believe that when I received the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior, I received His stamp of approval and a mark showing that I am a child of God.
In the Holy Spirit, we are sealed and that is that.  Today so if you are worried about this, that or the other, relax and remember that you are a Child of the highest God.  You are covered by His seal by the Holy Spirit.  There is nothing that can stand against you because you are a person chosen by God.
Think about it, it was no coincidence that you became a child of God.  God called you by name, He told you that you are His and guess what, God knows where you live.  God knows your every move and He knows your needs and will answer you when you pray.
Prayer

Heavenly Father, Lord our God humbly we thank You for today, for the scripture reminding us that we have been covered by the seal of the Holy Spirit, that we have Your approval and that You have chosen each one of us today.  Lord, where there is strive, give them peace, where there is pain give them relief.  Lord where there is hunger give them food.  Bless each person reading this today.  Holy Spirit touches each person’s life in Jesus Christ's name, I pray.  Amen

Get rid of “fear” once and for all!

Isaiah 51: 7 (NIV)

7  “Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have my law in your hearts:  Do not fear the reproach of men or be terrified by their insults.”

There was a time in my life that I used to be so fearful I even felt I could not leave my house.  The fear was so intense that I was even frightened to go into the garden.

Fear overtook my thoughts and I was stuck in my own little world.  Crying and praying and crying I took my Bible and sat on my bed.  Tears pouring down my cheeks, I could hardly believe what my life had become.

As I sat there and prayed asking the Lord to help me, my Bible fell open on Isaiah 51.  My eye caught verses 7 and I sat there reading the verse.

You see my problem was I could not find a job and it felt like my entire life was falling apart.  I tried everything I could to get my life on track.

The key to my dissolving the fear I felt was as follows:

  • ·       I decided to trust the Lord my God fully.
  • ·        I spoke to Him in prayer and told Him what was bothering me.
  • ·        I confessed my sins.
  • ·        I cried out to Him and I humbled myself before Him.

I started focusing on God’s Word, I looked for reasons why I felt so fearful and I discovered that I was feeling so sad and fearful because I felt I was not contributing to the house hold.  I forgot that I was cleaning, doing the washing, ironing the clothes, cooking meals, baking cakes and running the jumping castle business.

Within a couple of days, I felt relieve and I knew God had stepped in and dissolved my fear.

Please should you feel fearful speak to someone about what you are scared of and they can help you. Drop me a mail and I will also speak to you and even pray with you.

My life in a nutshell!

This is the day the Lord has made;
I will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118: 24

Veering off my normal daily devotional today, I thought I would give you a glimpse into my world.

We live in Mpumalanga and my goodness we get out of bed bright and early, at 06h00 am and then the day starts.  I never jump back into bed, I make the bed and then get started.  Its coffee and breakfast and then the kids are off to school and the husband is off to work.

So now you think I have the privilege of sitting around doing nothing.  I wish!

Long story short, I have a really mundane life and it entails washing and ironing and cleaning.  In between cooking as well and then I want to still do my blogs.

Today I was researching music for my program and checking the formatting and getting my material read for Thursday’s hour.  Tell you what, it was a hair-raising moment every now and then.

I am so grateful that the Lord God has been faithful and been watching over me, I bring all I do to the Lord in prayer and I trust that He will straighten my path.  I can only bring Him glory and honor.  I am also so excited at the prospects of having my Daily Devotional Ebenezer published very soon.  As soon as it hits the bookstore I will let you know.

Well that is it for now, I have to get back to some more research I have to create a website and I am also really looking forward to the launch of this website.  Whoa God is Great!
