#Dealing with #Anger

Colossians 3: 8 “But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth.”

I am telling you there are some people who know what to say and do to make one “lose it” and they get a kick out of it. Then before you know it you have been cussing and swearing. I go red in the face and want to cry with anger. Do you know what I am telling you?

I seriously needed urgent help and I am still working on this anger situation and to make matters worse I suppress my anger and sometimes or rather most of the time I explode at time.

I have been fasting and praying about my temper and I have brought this matter in urgent prayer to the Lord. I have come to a place that I now keep quiet and I start reminding myself that the Lord Jesus Christ is in control. I start clothing myself with the Lord Jesus. I ask the Lord Jesus to assist me.

This has been a process and I am honest in saying it is taking some time. I am also getting to the place in my life that I pray about my reaction and ask God to help me.

Prayer

Heavenly Father please keep watch over my mouth, my temper my anger. I come humbly asking forgive me and help me deal with my words and my way going forward. In the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ Amen

#Through

Isaiah 43: 2 “When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned.”

I have learned something very significant about this scripture today, and that is I need to “go through” my circumstances. It isn’t possible to walk around it, under it or even try and avoid it. I actually have to “go through” it.

Facing difficulties is something I hate but I have been thinking about this, God isn’t interested in our comfort He wants us to become more like the Lord Jesus Christ. God will deliver us but He is busy developing each of us so that we are able to reach our God-given purpose.

God reminds us that when we go through the waters, He is with us.  When we go through fire, He is with us. It shows me that we are being refined and with refinery there is pain.  Growth is taking place and we are becoming pure of heart, soul and mind.

Let’s not cry all the time but rejoice in the fact that God is with us when we go through difficult times. Praise the Lord for those times of refinery because that means we are being worked on. God loves us.

Prayer

Lord as I go through my own trials and tribulations, I want to say thank You for growing me.  I know that I am nothing without You and I want to pray help me accept the things that I cannot change.  Help me understand and draw near to You when I feel alone and afraid, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

God expects you to grow your gift!

2 Timothy 1: 6 “Kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you.”

For many years I didn’t do anything, I just sat around and watched TV and looked after my children. I never had any hobbies and if I did something I was reminded that my hobbies were for old ladies. I stopped doing anything I loved.

Then a couple of years ago I was encouraged to do the things I love and enjoy. I read that God expects us to make the most of what He gives us.  We should make the most of our gifts and talents. I started baking cakes; I started baking cupcakes and biscuits. In the beginning they were not that great but as I practiced baking I started to get the knack of things.

I then wanted to learn how to paint beautiful landscapes and animals. I took a fine arts class and studied the art of painting on canvas.  I love this and when I am in the right mood I am able to pain beautifully.

I used to be afraid that I would fail and people would laugh at me, but I soon learned they didn’t laugh and encouraged me. I did many things fearfully but I persevered and made an attempt. I would bake cakes on order and pray that the people enjoyed the cakes.

Prayer

Please Lord help me to reach the goals that I set for myself, help me do the best I can and let me do my work according to Your will.  As I grow my talents and gifts show me where I can improve and help me give my best always in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  Amen

It’s time to trust the Lord

Ephesians 1: 11 “He makes everything work out according to His plan.”

This is a “light bulb” moment for me today, “He makes everything work out according to His plan.” My question is what plan? I have been thinking about this and it is clear God said in Jeremiah 29: 11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Let’s carefully take a look at these words in scripture, God said “For I know the plans I have for you.” To my mind God knows me and is thinking about me.  God said “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Wow, did you see that, God wants me to prosper and that no harm comes my way. God said he wants to give me hope and a future.

The good work God has started in me will be carried out until the Lord Jesus Christ returns to this earth. I am a “work in progress.”

Prayer

Lord as I feel that I am a work in progress, thank you for watching over me. Thank you also for the word for today. Thank you that I may come to You today. Lord thank you, that You are making everything work out according to You plan for my life. I adore and worship You. I love You. In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Amen.
