How grateful are you?

Psalm 100

A Psalm of thanksgiving and for the thank-offering.

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all you lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness! Come before His presence with singing!
Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God! It is He Who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]! We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name!
For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations.
It's Sunday and I'm grateful that I was able to go to church and bring praise to the LORD and say thank You for my life, my husband and all my children.
God blessed my life and I feel so happy that I can spend time in His presence.
Great and mighty is the Lord!
Praise His name

How can my life be a living memorial to Christ?

Mark: 1 - 26
Jesus Anointed at BethanyThe Last Supper

14 Now the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were scheming to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him. “But not during the festival,” they said, “or the people may riot.” While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head. Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, “Why this waste of perfume? It could have been sold for more than a year’s wages[a] and the money given to the poor.” And they rebuked her harshly. “Leave her alone,” said Jesus. “Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. The poor you will always have with you,[b] and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me. She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.” 10 Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus to them. 11 They were delighted to hear this and promised to give him money. So he watched for an opportunity to hand him over. 12 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus’ disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”
13 So he sent two of his disciples, telling them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. 14 Say to the owner of the house he enters, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ 15 He will show you a large room upstairs, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.”
16 The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover. 17 When evening came, Jesus arrived with the Twelve. 18 While they were reclining at the table eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me—one who is eating with me.” 19 They were saddened, and one by one they said to him, “Surely you don’t mean me?” 20 “It is one of the Twelve,” he replied, “one who dips bread into the bowl with me. 21 The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.” 22 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.” 23 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it.
24 “This is my blood of the[c] covenant, which is poured out for many,” he said to them. 25 “Truly I tell you, I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.” 26 When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

I am wondering how can my life be a living memorial to Christ? I don't feel that I am this wonderful person. I know God says "Be holy because I Am Holy." But honestly, I am not feeling holy. I am a normal person and I do go through the motions. I want to be a memorial to Christ but many times I fail. I can say the same things as the Apostel Paul, I want to do the right thing, but I keep on doing the wrong thing, I just cannot do it right.
The only way I feel I can be a living memorial to Christ is to persevere and do my best right now. But doing what I can and believing God will do the rest for me.
I want to pray that in all humility in all my brokenness and while I can live to my best ability in honoring God.

Praying for a discouraged heart and despair

Psalm 3: 3 You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

Psalm 30: 11 - 12 You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent.  O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever.

John 10: 10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. But Jesus came that I may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Today, humbly Lord, I want to come before Your throne this morning, Lord You know my heart and understand the discouragement in my life, I sometimes feel despair and without strength but today Lord You are my shield and my glory and the lifter of my head.

Lord today I know You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever.

As I face today Lord I want to stand up against the devil who has come to steal and kill and destroy.  But Jesus came that I may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Please, Lord, bless each person who reads my blog today, fills them with Your Holy Spirit let no harm come to them, bless their lives with supernatural favour let no harm come to them, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Praying Scripture

Ephesians 1: 15 - 19

"For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.  I keep asking the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength,"

This is my prayer for each of you today, that the Lord will open the eyes of your heart in order to know the hopes to which he has called you.

I cannot add or take away the words of the apostle Paul, how well he has put it for our understanding. It is my heart's desire that when you start reading the word of our Lord, that the Holy Spirit will touch your hearts and minds, and that you may get to your Damascus road and have your personal encounter with the Lord.

Thank you for reading my blog and it is my heartfelt prayer that the Lord Jesus becomes a reality in your life today. Amen

Hello and how are you?

I've been away for 6 weeks and only now starting to recover. I was so fortunate in being treated to a lifetime holiday I could not obtain in my own strength.

I remember in 2018 I prayed to ask the Lord if it would be possible for me to go overseas to Australia to visit my brother. I was very upset and thought I would never leave South Africa never mind going overseas.

But God hears all our prayers, I realize that today and when I was in Australia I realized God answers prayers.

So some background in 2019 my brother who lives in Australia actually came to visit all of us here in South Africa. It was such a lovely time and I expressed my desire to visit him but I didn't have the means.  I am unemployed and I don't have two cents to rub together.

Well, my brother bought me a ticket to visit him in December 2019 and my husband was gracious in allowing me to travel overseas. My daughter gave me cash to go over and to pay for my visa and other important documents. I went overseas with a lot of cash in my pocket and also had such a great time.  My brother is such a great guy, he spent all of this time with me.  We went everywhere with my sister in law Carla and little Jadyn, I saw all of Adelaide and had the most wonderful time of my life.

If you truly pray and God knows your heart I believe He is able to answer every prayer. God is so wonderful and He answered my prayers. I am still amazed at this great vacation,

my thanks and gratefulness is towards the Lord my God, my brother and sister in law and my daughter.  All of you made this possible for me to take a lifetime vacation, one that I can never ever do on my own.

Lord you are more than I can explain and You are wonderful, Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty I am the most grateful person that lives.

Praise and honor to the name of the LORD, Amen

I realised that my life cannot change if I didn't change my way of thinking.

Philippians 4:8-9 Living Bible

And now, brothers, as I close this letter, let me say this one more thing: Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about. Keep putting into practice all you learned from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you.
I decided to focus my mind on the Lord Jesus Christ, I am negatively inclined and I struggle with negative thoughts all the time. I realized that if I was serious about changing my negative thoughts to a more positive way of life I had to take my thoughts captive.
When you read Philippians 4 verses 8 you are reminded of thinking positive thinking. Not focusing on the negative things in life that break you down. Let God's Word, the Bible grow in you. Learn to focus on verses that build you up and start your spiritual growth by studying God's word.
Please pray with me, Lord, please help me stay focused on Your Word, lead me and guide me. Help me turn my dark and negative thoughts back to You, in Jesus name amen

#expect!

2 Timothy 1:7 Amplified Bible

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].

The Lord, God understands me very well, I am expecting good things to come forth and I am not going to doubt myself. When I look at my life and see how it has progressed I know and expect good things to come my way. I believe that I have been raised with the Lord Jesus Christ and I have power right now in my own life. The Holy Spirit is in me, giving me the power to overcome temptation, the power to change my life for the better, the power to forgive and speak God's Word and see God's promises show up in my life. I have the power to be healed in my own life.

At the moment I am expecting great things to happen, I have something I am waiting for and I believe I can think big and ask big, and that there is Power of God's Spirit living in me will bring everything to pass in my own life. I pray this in Jesus's name, amen

"The sound of a gentle blowing."

1 Kings 19:12 Amplified Bible

12 After the earthquake, [there was] a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire, [there was] the sound of a gentle blowing.
When I feel worried and anxious I turn to the Lord and I realize that the fear I am feeling isn't from the Lord. God, isn't someone who brings fear into my life, the devil does that. Constant poking me reminding me of all I have failed at.
The LORD speaks to me in a gentle whisper. Not shouting at me, threw stuff at me. The funny thing is I can't handle the "gentle whisper." The minute anybody speaks words of kindness and is gentle towards me I miss the point. I start crying.
Prayer
Lord, Father God, You know my heart and my fears. Today please speak to me in a gentle whisper, I am in need of Your Holy Spirit, Lord. Amen

I feel like a cracked pot, full of wholes

Isaiah 64: 8 ESV
"Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand."

Simply put, I have come to realize that I am a cracked pot, I have so many flaws it scars me at time. Then I start judging myself and believe that I cannot come into the presence of the LORD because of everything going on inside of me.

Today I want to say yes, I have flaws, I am not perfect but I feel like I am a work in progress.  I want to encourage and help others feel better about themselves. We are in the LORD's hand. He is busy working with us.

Prayer

Father God, humly I want to pray for forgiveness of sins. Lord, You are Holy and You are worthy of so many praises and I want to bring You all the glory and honor to Your Holy Name. I am nothing Lord without You, a cracked pot with too many wholes. Please help me to be diligent in following You, as my spirit needs You today. Amen
