#PrayerRenewedSpirit

Ephesians 4: 22 – 24 (TLB)

“then throw off your old evil nature – the old you that was a partner in your evil ways – rotten through and through, full of lust and sham.  Now your attitudes and thoughts must all be constantly changing for the better.  Yes, you must be a new and different person, holy and good. Clothe yourself with the new nature.”

We need to constantly come into the presence of the LORD and ask the Holy Spirit to help us with the renewing of our minds. In Ephesians, we see we are reminded to let go of the old sinful past and start moving forward towards the renewing of our minds. We need to change our attitude and thoughts by constantly focusing on God’s Word.

When we gave our lives to the LORD Jesus we became a new creation and children of the Living God. In 2 Corinthians 5 verse 17, we are reminded that we are a new creation in Christ.

I realize that my life isn’t perfect and I need to repent on a daily basis from my sinful life. Each day we need to meditate on God’s Word and we are also reminded in 2 Corinthians 4 verse 16 to renew our minds daily. Soaking up God’s Word and asking the Holy Spirit to help us. I believe in taking time and staying in God’s presence and reading the Word (Bible) writing down thoughts and praying about the LORD’s Word. Asking the Holy Spirit to reveal His word to us.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, humbly I draw closer to You and I repent of my sinful life. Lord, if there are sins I should be repenting off please show me. I want to pray for the renewing of my mind, my soul and my spirit. I clothe myself with You, LORD Jesus, I am humbly praying for the renewing of my spirit in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
The Word for Today:
2 Corinthians 4: 16, “That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our inner strength in the LORD is growing every day.”

Scripture for Friday

Numbers 14: 18 ESV
"The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love,
forgiving iniquity and transgression,
but he will by no means clear the guilty,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the childer,
to the third and the fourth generation."

#PrayerFriday

2 Chronicles 7: 14 (TLB)
“Then if my people will humble themselves and pray, and search for me, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear them from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land.”

Solomon brought sacrifices to the LORD and after his prayer, something fantastic happened. Fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.  We really have no idea how awesome that must have been to see the glory of God fill the temple.

We see the priests could not enter the temple because the glory of the LORD filled the LORD’s house. The Israelites all fell down on the pavement and worshipped and gave thanks to the LORD, saying “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”

The temple is dedicated and then the LORD says “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” As I focus on this verse I am humbly asking the Holy Spirit to search my heart and soul, pointing out the issues of bitterness and sin that I am harbouring in my heart. I want to repent of my sinfulness and turn myself back to the LORD. In humility, I am asking that the Holy Spirit will show me the problems I need to deal with so that I can renew my own life, and rebuild my relationships with family and friends.

As I embark on this prayer journey I want to ask you to join me and let's ask for a revival in our own lives to honour God and bring good news to the nations.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I humbly come before YOU, LORD. I want to pray and bring You praise. Lord, You are Holy and Worthy of Praise. Humbly, I confess that I have so many sins hidden in my heart. LORD, I am asking that the Holy Spirit will come and reveal it to me today and during the next couple of days. So that I may become healed in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

A New Beginning

Genesis 13: 14 ESV
The LORD said to Abram after Lot had separated from him, “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward.”

I cannot believe how time seems to fly these days. It was December 2018 a minute ago and now we are at the end of January 2019. I feel excited and in good spirits, I read something Joyce Meyers wrote and it struck me that I am also facing a New beginning in my own life.

As I meditate and focus on “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are,” I feel the Lord is also speaking to me. It seemed I would not get anywhere and nothing would work out for me. In my life, there are a couple of “naysayers” who are constantly trying to pull me down. The best part is God isn’t manipulated by these people. God has promised me; “plans for welfare and not for evil, to give me a future and hope.”

I am also getting excited because I am working on a strategic plan to start my own business, I have to do a couple of things and then start advertising. I see God saying to Abram “Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you.” Genesis 13 verse 17. I believe I am going place and God will give it to me.

As I think and meditate on God’s Word for today, I am getting up and walking out my dream. I am doing what I can and leaving the rest in God’s capable hands. I know God can do anything, I am reminded that Sarah was aged and she actually conceived and gave birth to her son Isaac. How awesome is that?

Prayer

Humbly, Abba Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I stand before You. I know that I am facing my New Beginnings. I am so grateful for the opportunities and gifts You have given me. I am asking YOU today to bless me in ways I cannot understand. I am asking for Your supernatural favour in my life with You LORD and with people. Please help me You know my hearts desires. In Jesus Christ's name, Amen
The Word for Today:
Genesis 18: 14, “Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son.”

When I’m weak, You lift me up

Romans 8: 26 KJV

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

God understands and knows us very well, in my current situation I have decided to leave my job in God’s hands. I believe God has a plan for my life and many times I just don’t have words to speak to God. My spirit becomes so low and despondent. The one thing I have come to realise God is always in control and He knows best.

I am so grateful for my job, you won’t believe me. I have been informed that my contract is being extended. Praise the Lord, I worry about my parents and it would be really difficult to help them if I am sitting at home not earning any cash.

God knows my heart and I believe that the Spirit helps me in my weaknesses. What an awesome God we serve.

I have been blessed with a salary for the next couple of months. What an awesome God I serve.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You, for looking out for me. Blessing me with a job and letting me work another couple of months. I want to bring my praises to You. You have helped me in my weakness. Thank You, so much Lord, Jesus. I worship and adore You. Amen

The Word for Today:

2 Peter 1: 13, “It is right to refresh your memory.”

You’ll give an account of every careless word spoken.

Matthew 12: 35 ESV
“I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak.”

Have you tried to change your thinking lately? I think it’s very difficult to do this out of my own strength. I actually believe that I need the Holy Spirit so that I can change my thinking and the way I speak. I have been living in Mpumalanga for just over eight years and I believe my way of thinking and speaking has changed somewhat. Something we do not do in our home is curse or swearing. Without the Holy Spirit, it won’t be possible.

When the Holy Spirit prompts you or me to do something, we should obey and do whatever he shows us.   The Lord Jesus says that every sin will be forgiven but if we blaspheme against the Holy Spirit it will not be forgiven us. Rejecting the prompts from the Holy Spirit and constantly turning away for His guidance could be something seen as blaspheme of the Holy Spirit. I wouldn’t want to try the Lord in any way and especially when He sends His Holy Spirit to guide me. That would be too much to bear from my side.

Prayer

Father God, help me today to keep my ears and eyes open to the prompting of the Holy Spirit in my own life. Please forgive me if I have sinned against You or anybody in particular. Place a guard over my mouth and mind, and I clothe myself in the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
The Word for Today:
Matthew 12: 31, “Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven people, but the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.”

Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.

Proverbs 2: 6 ESV
“For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;”

As I search my heart today, it is clear to me I would love to know the LORD Jesus better, my problem is I am not that focused. I want wisdom and knowledge and understanding. I also have come to realise that I seem to forget these days.

I am constantly reminding people around me to study God’s word. I think reading Proverbs each day can give us a guideline to our lives. We actually have to sit down and read the Bible. I know God wants to impart wisdom and understanding to each one of us. The problem is we aren’t that focused and we neglect to read the Bible as often as we should.

Proverbs 2: 10 ESV says “for wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul:” Studying Gods Word will open our hearts to receive wisdom and knowledge. Again, we should be focused on God’s Word.

What to do? For God’s Word to take root in our lives we need to make time and spend time in Gods’ Word. Getting up 15 minutes earlier and spending time in Gods Word. You will be so surprised at the spiritual growth in your own life. Something to remember God will keep an eye on you when you practice spending time with Him.  I want to challenge you today, take that 15 minutes and spend it with God.

Prayer

Abba Father, thank you for today, I have so much I am grateful of and I know I cannot make it on my own. I want to draw near to You each and every day. I want wisdom and understanding in my own life I do spend time with You but I want to expand in my spiritual growth. Lord Jesus Christ help me with my quiet time. Amen

I'm daring to dream

Cake baked by me

Philippians 3: 13 NIV
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,”

My daughter has been reminding me for some time to plan ahead. Looking towards something I want to attain and work on my plan. Last night I decided that it was time that I expand my cake business. I started classes teaching ladies how to decorate cakes but I believe I should fervently work on my mentoring.

My dream is to teach people the basic’s of cake baking and decorating and then teaching them the finer art of cake decorating. I have worked out a plan and I realize it is going to cost some money but if you truly want to the knowledge I’m sure you will invest in your future.

I also feel with my mentoring I am adding to our community and this is a good thing, people can start up their own little cake businesses and take it from there. I know woman love to bake and the prettier the cake the popular the baker.

I have decided not only to talk about my business but I want to promote it. I enjoy baking and I feel sure the classes will be of great interest to other cake fans.

Prayer

Abba Father, Lord You, have given me this dream and today I want to bring my plan before You. I want to start classes. Please give me the necessary wisdom and insight and understanding. I want to grow my cake business and I believe that this is attainable. Lord, today I dedicate my ideas into Your hands and I want to pray to ask You to please help me. I need Your help today and going forward. Lord please may I ask You to confirm my thoughts and plans in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ. Amen

When someone irritates me.

Ephesians 4: 31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.”

I am a very straight forward person. A spade is a spade. That kind of straight and please do not lie to me. I get super angry. Now when it comes to someone that truly irritates me I have no filters. The words "pop out" and I say what I feel and think.

Yes, I know forgive this person and be kind, understanding and compassionate. My heart tells me to act in this way but my brain doesn't work like that. Reaching out is difficult and I struggle with to be a friendly person. Especially when I feel this person is defiant.

Of course, I am working at being kinder and reaching out but it's very difficult for me. I forgive this person on a regular basis because I feel they manipulate the system to get their way. In Ephesians 4 verse 32 I am reminded to forgive as God has forgiven me. It takes me a while to get that forgiving in place.

It's beyond my understanding to grasp this person who goes out of their way to irritate me. When instructed to do a simple task, they will complicate the task and leave it.

Unfortunately, I am a purpose driven, time-conscious and goal oriented person. The person in question does not care if it's Monday or Sunday each day is the same to them. Time is of no concern and by the way "who cares."

Okay, you argue that this person is trying to live their own lives. The problem with this is that they have no direction and will not accept any guidance.

Which reminds me of God's Word. "Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God forgave you." I know, I am working on this matter. I am struggling with self-control and understanding this person. They don't make it any easier for me.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Lord my God, You understand me and know where I am coming from. You also know the person I am referring to. Lord, You know how vicious this person is and how definite they are.

Lord, You know what they do and say things behind my back. Humbly, I ask please LORD, forgive me, I do feel irritated by them, I forgive them and set them free, placing them into Your hands. In the Holy, Name of Jesus Christ. Amen
