Where do we learn to love?
Oscar Wild wrote ‘Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead.’ Love is patient, love is kind, love endures all things and love is unconditional.December is a month of celebration, thankfulness and mostly of showing how much we love and care for each other. We all learned this by watching our parents. Where did they learn it? Of course from their parents and then the question I pose is how did it all come about? To my mind I believe it to be through the birth of someone so important and still with each of us. The Lord Jesus Christ, the fact of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of our Savior.
Just by reading and following the word we learn that the Lord was kind, He loved unconditionally and had deep compassion for people. We need to take a page from His book. Watching my grandchildren I have come to realize they have unconditional love. They love you just the way you are. They accept you as you are and they adore you for who you are.
Christmas is a time to show your love to family and friends. We speak about our ‘loved one’s’ let’s start by being considerate, patient, understanding. Let reach out this Christmas and make a difference.
Love drives away hatred; it drives away pain and brings joy into our hearts. Remember love is not a feeling it is an act of your heart. Lift someone’s life up today by loving them for who they are.
Placing someone else happiness before your own is an act of love. Reminding us to listen more carefully and understand more fully with love we can change each other.
Be a toddler today and love unconditionally, start with baby steps and progress to see a life changed yours and mine. I love you!
