Are you still glad in the LORD?

1 Chronicles 16: 10 “Let the hearts of those who keep on seeking the Lord rejoice (be glad).”

I was so ecstatic about a “Tallis Prayer Shawl” my friend gave me. I must be honest when she gave it to me I was out of it. I could hardly believe what had just taken place. Each time I place the shawl over my shoulder I thank God for her.

I seek the Lord and when I wake up the first thoughts that come to my mind is “good morning LORD.” I am not quite sure what the day holds for me but please keep Your hand of protection over each one of us today.

I don’t believe my life is perfect in fact I go through difficult times and I feel so lonely and then I turn my attention back to God. I am so grateful for all His doing in my life. I cannot see my life without Him.

Do you want to rejoice with me today? Are you feeling lonely and without a purpose? I want to encourage you by telling You God is looking out for people who are looking for Him. Seeking God with all their hearts and minds, you know that feeling. Looking and searching for God until you have the right answers.
God is good, all the time.

Prayer

Lord you know the agnostic and the person who is so skeptic about Your existence. I want to encourage these people and tell them YOU LORD are real. I have experienced You on more than one occasion. I want to ask them to start by speaking to You, Holy Spirit speak into their hearts and help them move forward. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen

“Act on what you hear!”

James 1: 22 “Don't fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear!”

What drives you? Where is your passion? What are you passionate about? These questions have been plaguing me for some time.  I feel driven by doing the best I can every day. I feel passionate about the Lord and His word. I feel that I need to write my short devotionals and let people see what is happening in my own life. I want to be instrumental in spreading God’s Word across the World. I feel passionate about people. My passion is to help elderly people, I think of my mom and her plight.

I wonder if you are scared to ask God “What do You want me to do for YOU?”  Thinking about it most people try not to ask this question in case there is an answer and they need to really do something they don’t want to. We are misled, God’s will is good and acceptable and perfect check out Romans 12:2.

Don’t just listen to the Word but act on it. Do something about it.

Prayer
Lord thank You for the passion You placed in my heart for my mom and people that suffer. Please Lord touch the lives of the people reading my blog today bless them and keep watch over them in Jesus Christ name. Amen

Why don’t Christians have a real impact on the World today?

Sometimes we miss the crux of the matter but I was wondering why Christian doesn’t really have an impact on the World today? What is missing? Let me show you something I saw in Acts Chapter 14 verse 8 to 18. I read that Paul and Barnabas were in the city Lystra and they were teaching the Word of God to the people. Paul noticed a crippled man and it was said the man had been lame from birth and he hadn’t been able to walk.

The cripple man sat there listening to Pauls words. Paul saw that the man believed and knew he could be healed.  Paul looked straight at the man and said to him in a loud voice: “Stand up straight on your feet!” The man jumped up and started walking around.  It is said when the crowds saw what Paul had done, they started shouting in their own Lycaonian language, “The gods have become like men and have come down to us!” They gave Barnabas the name Zeus and Paul the name Hermes, because he was the chief speaker.

Then I read that the priest of the god Zeus, whose temple stood just outside the town, brought bulls and flowers to the gate, for he and the crowds wanted to offer sacrifice to the apostles.  Both Barnabas and Paul heard what they were about to do, they tore their clothes and ran into the middle of the crowds, shouting, “Why are you doing this? We ourselves are only human beings like you! We are here to announce the Good News, to turn you away from these worthless things to the living God, who made heaven, earth, sea and all that is in them. In the past he allowed all people to go their own way. But he has always given evidence of his existence by the good things he does: he gives you rain from heaven and crops at the right times; he gives you food and fills your hearts with happiness.” Even with these words the apostles could hardly keep the crowd from offering a sacrifice to them.

It is clear the people in Lystra believed that both Barnabas and Paul where gods.  They saw Paul speak a word and the cripple man was healed. It moved them in such away they gave Barnabas and Paul new names “Zeus and Hermes.”

We don’t want to be seen as god but we do want to bring the Word of God to the people the same way Paul and Barnabas did. Paul told the people they weren’t god’s but mere people exactly the same as everybody else the only difference was that they were serving a living God.

Prayer

Lord as mere people we pray that the Holy Spirit will fill our lives and help us in bold when speaking about You. You are our Creator, You are the lover of our souls, You are in control of each and everything we do. Lord bless this word today and let it open the eyes of the people. Guide us and teach us in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth I pray. Amen

Learn to relax.

Matthew 6: 34 “So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.”

All the people around me seem so relaxed and content with their lives while I am constantly busy and getting involved in all kinds of things. My husband is constantly telling me to relax and not to take each and everything so seriously. I think, that’s easy to say, I cannot help myself.

I don’t know if you are able to relate with me, I am the kind of person who is constantly planning ahead; making sure thing will be done at this and that time.  I walk fast, I eat fast and do things immediately and I hate things to be left for another day. I cannot accept excuses and get irritated when people don’t do what they promised.

My first lesson these days is to not always have the last word. Something I noticed most people want to have the last word. They will send sticker or something just to be the last message in your text messages. I have not resorted to not responding after I said what I wanted to.  No emphasis is necessary I said what I wanted to.

We tend to want to know what tomorrow will bring and how we can sort things out before hand and that’s people like me. I cannot wait for things to happen I am constantly seeing what I can do to make it happen.
The past couple of months have been different in that I had been at home and I could just sit around doing nothing. I was constantly busy cleaning and washing clothes and ironing the clothes.

I didn’t know that I would be back at work for a couple of months and now I need to trust in and focus on God to open a door for me next year. In the mean time I have prayed about my situation and now I have to leave this in God hands and trust He knows best.

Prayer

O Lord God of all Your children I must be one of the most uptight kids You have adopted. Lord thank You for being patient with me and thank You for watching over my life. Thank You Lord for teaching me to relax and take things easy when I want to run you slows me down. Thank You Lord for always doing what is best for me. I humbly faith I ask bless my life today as well as all the people I come into contact. I ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen
