Be realistic.

James 4: 8
“Draw near to God
and He will draw
near to you
Cleanse your hands,
you sinners;
and purify your hearts,
you double-minded.”

This is my last key component, helping me decide on my goal.  Too many goals make me undecided and then I feel that I have become double-minded.  The problem with being double-minded is that you lose focus.  I cannot get my attention to stay on one specific matter because I have 5 different goals and not either one of them are talking to each other.

I weight my options on each of the goals I have set for myself and see what I can reach and what I cannot.  I then put all my attention and time into the specific goal and work towards reaching my goal.  It takes time and practice and at the end of the day, I actually get to my desired goal.

I hope that you enjoyed reading my thoughts on living a successful life and hopefully being happy at the same time.  I would recommend you write down what is important to you.

Prayer

O Lord God, thank You for Your loving kindness and the time I can come and spend with You.  Lord guide me so that I will do my best job now.  I don’t understand the difficulties I have to face each day but I pray please help me be realistic and do what You have designed me to do.  In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Write it down.

Habakkuk 2: 22
“And Jehovah answereth me and said:
“Write a vision,
and explain on the tables,
that he may run
who is reading it.”

Key component number six is something to consider when you want to attain success in your personal life.  I write down my goals but I try and keep them realistic and I also write a couple down which seem impossible and scare me.

I keep my eye on my goal and in my everyday life I try and focus on what I want to achieve.  You know my attitude is something I have been working on and because I struggle with a negative person I make sure I give my negative thoughts to God each and every day.

Once I have reached my goal I can check it off my list.  I feel that I have accomplished something and focus on my next goal.  I have learned in this year that in becoming good in something I make a point of practicing it every day.

Something I realized is that when writing down what I hope to achieve I really have to think about it.

Prayer

Lord Thank You for reminding us to write down our vision gives us the necessary wisdom and understanding to attain our goals and visions.  In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

Make obtainable goals for your life.

Hebrews 11: 27
“By faith, he left Egypt,
not fearing the king’s anger;
he persevered because
he saw him who is invisible.”

Key component six to succeed in life is setting goals for my own life.  We see Moses left Egypt and moving on with his life.

Setting goals for my life aren't easy and I struggle to see the future as other people do.  I try and visualize my life differently and I try and make goals that I can obtain most of which I do.

I set goals for myself and trust that I am able to get there; if my dreams aren’t scaring me then they are too easy to get to.

Stretching myself each and every day is something I do, I work hard and make sure I do my best job now, with an expectation that I will meet my goals.

You are able to set goals and make it to them, you just have to make up your own mind as to what you want in life.

Prayer

Lord Jesus help me set obtainable goals for my own life, show me where I should go and what You want me to do.  I cannot do this on my own or even in my own strength I need You in Jesus Name, Amen.

Sharpen your blades

Proverbs 1: 5
“let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance -”

My husband is in I.T. shame and he is constantly learning and writing exams.  The best is that if he doesn’t “sharpen his blade” he will fall behind and then he won’t have a job.  This is a key component to becoming successful in life.

I.T. is one of those jobs where it is important to stay focused, read and observe in order to keep abreast with the latest in technology.  You cannot move forward in I.T. if you don’t keep on learning.

I want to encourage you to do that course you saw, sharpen your blade, you are going to grow and it will bring maturity.

The same applies to the Bible we need to constantly focus on the Word, learning and studying the word is important.  It helps us grow and sharpens our lives to maturity.

Prayer

Lord, we are open to learning, help us stay focused and learn as much as we can.  We all want to become mature and live a life You have planned for us in Jesus name.  Amen

You must be confident.

2 Corinthians 3: 5
“Not that we are sufficiently qualified in ourselves to
claim anything as coming from us,
but our sufficiency
and
Qualifications
come from God.”

My third key to success is staying confident and knowing my worth in the Lord Jesus Christ.  I must be honest the other day I went to the hairdresser and I sat there for 4 hours at that time all I heard was negative talk about their personal lives.  When I got home I had no other choice as to take some painkillers.

Being around negative people is draining and they just don’t get out of it.  My sufficiency is in the LORD.  I receive my strength through God’s Word, which strengthens me each and every day.  Helping me stay positive and changing my thought patterns from feeling miserable to staying focused and being positive.

I have learned to look for the good things in life, see what opportunities arise and grab it with both my hands; I claim success each morning from God for my own life.  I believe God is qualifying me and it is because I come to HIM each day.

Prayer

Lord God as I think about my attitude and my the personal changes in my own life, I can only draw near to You.  Staying positive is one of the key components of being successful and with You Lord in my life I am positive.  I look forward to a prosperous future and I know You have a blueprint for my life.  I know that You love me and I can stand firmly on You.  I love you Lord in Jesus Christ's name. Amen

Help others to succeed.

Proverbs 16: 3
“Commit your works to the LORD
and your plans will be established.”

My second key component to becoming successful is to consider other people around me.  Helping them attain their goals and guiding them.  I love to teach people but I don’t believe my people skills are up to scratch

I try as far as possible to accommodate people to the best of my ability if there is something I am able to teach them I do.  Helping where I can is something I also try and do.  I don’t always have the means but what I have I share with people around me.

It has become important to me to share what I have with others, God will provide and I do share. Remember Ephesians said, “Whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive from the Lord.” (6: 8)

The self-interest and self-importance don't always go a long way, and people need you to be there for them.  Stop putting yourself on the pedestal, God will lift you up at the right time at the right place.

Prayer

Lord today I commit my works into Your hands, I am asking that whatever I am planning that You will be with me.  You know my heart and my mind, I dedicate it to Your hands too.  Lord, I dedicate the people I love and care for into Your hands asking that You will touch their lives with prosperity, love and kindness.  Guiding each one of us on our way to You in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Amen.

Put God First

Genesis 39: 23
“The chief jailer did not supervise anything
under Joseph’s charge
because the LORD was with him;
and whatever he did,
the LORD made to prosper.”

A key component in my life is putting God first in my life which I believe will help me in becoming successful.  Something that is close to my heart is the fact that I also need to work on my personal relationship with the LORD.  How can I expect to become successful if I don’t have a personal relationship with the most important person in my life?

Job 22: 21 “Now yield and submit yourself to Him [agree with God and be conformed to His will] and be at peace; in this way [you will prosper and great] good will come to you.”  Another key component in succeeding in life is by submitting yourself to God and agreeing with Him so that we can conform to His will.

I believe that when I am in agreement with God my life is on another level, I feel that I am able to face anything that comes my way.  It doesn’t help me when I keep on looking back at my past mistakes and constantly beating myself up.  I need to look up and trust the only person who is able to help me, the LORD God.

This Christmas season I want to encourage you to stay focused on God and look forward to purposes and good future.  God is still on the throne and He knows what is good for each one of us.

Prayer

Heavenly Father as we embark on our lives journey each and every day, help us to stay connected to You.  Lord, I want to ask that You will be with each one of us as You were with Joseph.  We need Your supernatural favour in our own lives, here at work and at home with our family.  Lord bless the people we come into contact with and show them Your supernatural favour in their lives.  Bless the people we work for so that they will keep us, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.  Amen

The fear of the LORD

Psalms 33: 18
“Behold, the eye of the LORD is on
those who fear him,
on those who hope in
His steadfast love,”

When you wake up each morning what goes through your mind?  “Good morning LORD.” Is something I say each morning but some morning I don’t feel like saying anything, I still say “Good morning LORD.”

I have been accused of being a fanatic and obsessed with the LORD and the Bible and that it is impossible to have a decent conversation with me because I don’t know what to say.

Many people think it is ridiculous when I bring something out of what I read the Bible and say this or that reminds me of this scripture or passage I read this morning.  It seems they are put off by my speaking of the LORD.

I believe that the eye of the LORD is on me, I do fear the LORD and I believe that my hope is in HIS steadfast love.  I am nothing without the LORD, I am what God decided to make me.

There is strength in the LORD and I believe with my whole heart that the LORD is working in my life each and every day.  Some days my past plagues me and I feel dreadful and it feels like my life isn’t worth living but the LORD is faithful and He reminds me that I am loved.  I am His child, He has called me by my name, I am valuable because the LORD Jesus Christ died on a cross to save my life.

Heavenly Father, LORD God Almighty in humility I come to You today, thank You for today, thank You for looking after me.  Thank You that I am able to think of You day and night.  Thank You for the supernatural favour in my life with YOU LORD as well as with people.  LORD, YOU are my everything, yes I talk to YOU constantly and it does irritate people but I do love You in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ my Lord and saviour.  Amen

Being forged like a sword!

James 1: 2-4
“Consider it nothing but joy,
my brothers and sisters,
whenever you fall into various trials.
Be assured that the testing of your faith
[through experience]
produces endurance
[leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace].
And let endurance have its perfect result and do a
through work, so that you may be
perfect and completely developed
[in your faith],
lacking in nothing.”

As I reflect on my life I believe in a sense my life is like an ore-bearing stone.  For the magic to come out of me something needs to take place so that a sword and a scabbard and chain can be forged.
The ore-bearing stone needs to be melted and then it is poured out into narrow molds.   Now the forging takes place.  First waiting for the melted glowing metal to cool down and the craftsman takes a little water and pours it over the still hot metal.

Breaking open the molds and taking them with tongs the rods are now ready to be forged.  You know the trails and tribulations you have faced and the pain you endured. Going through the fire and coming out changed.  Each process in our lives is to refine us and help us change.

The sword is the Word of God and God is the craftsman carefully knocking out all the blemishes and tiny little cracks.  It takes time and you are changing each day.  One day I will be that shiny bright beautiful sword that a trained knight can use in battle.

Prayer

O Lord, we don’t always consider it all joy when we need to face difficulties, sometimes we murmur and complain.  In humility we say thank You, You know what You are doing and these little knocks and bumps we experience are to forge us into the instrument You have decided for each of our life.  Open our eyes Lord so that we may see what it is You want us to see.

Help us understand the life You have in mind for us.  I live with purpose and a life worthy of You.  Thank You so much, Lord, for keeping us safe.  I love You Lord in Jesus Christ's name, Amen.
