Spiritual Workout

1 Timothy 4: 7 – 8 AMP

ā€œBut have nothing to do with irreverent folklore and silly myths. On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness [keeping yourself spiritually fit]. For physical training is of some value, but godliness (spiritual training) is of value in everything and in every way, since it holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.ā€

In my younger days, I used to run up 28 flights of stairs, go to the gymnasium twice a week. Constantly exercising and try and eat healthily. I wanted to be in control over my body and it was important to me to stay fit. As I grow older it doesn’t seem so important to me. I will rather take a walk before I go and spend hours in the gym.

Something I have also realise is that I need to spend time in God’s Word, reading His Word on a daily base is important to me. It’s important to grow spiritually and I find that the more I read the more I feel I am learning. I am desperate to grow spiritually and it feels like I am missing the point. I want to live a godly life. God’s Word will guide me and His Word is the truth. I feel godliness is eternal and I try and show the kids where my true passion lies. I am constantly telling them about God’s faithfulness.

Prayer

Lord You, know I want to grow spiritually, please help me grow to maturity. I feel I like in Wisdom and Understanding. I want to ask You, please Lord help me. I want to live a godly life. Lord thank You for Your Word, bless each one of us in abundance today. Amen
The Word for Today:

Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you.ā€

Hey, hey it is my 2 nd anniversary!   This has been an interesting time in my life and I must be honest I am starting to see the changes in my own life.    Firstly remember I am a city girl with this bad ass attitude, my way or the highway.   Ah, now let me tell you that doesn’t work like this.   My husband has a firm hand over me and keeps me in toe.   I am still my own person and have many new interests.    How was my day today?   Well the normal, got out of bed at 04h30 and then left the house by 06h00 arriving at work at 07h00.   Then to top it off in an early morning meeting at 07h30 to 08h30, then back in the office.   I worked on three projects; getting information from people isn’t that easy.   I firstly completed my own scope of work, followed up with the suppliers and then going back to the next person.   As I work according to my time keeping schedule I then finally got to lunch time.   I...

Wisdom in Trusting God

Proverbs 3: 5-6 NIV ā€œTrust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.ā€ My journey has been really interesting and there are days when I find it really difficult to trust in God.  On those days I go and make all kinds of plans and I think and worry about the matter at hand and at the end of that day I am tired, frustrated and I feel sick to my stomach.  Are you able to relate?   It sounds so easy when you read these words ā€œTrust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;ā€  Many times I take my problems to the LORD and I leave them with the LORD and after some serious thinking and worrying I go back to the LORD and take the problems back. This has been something I did for a number of years and lately, I have realized it has to change, I have to trust in the LORD.  After all, God is the creator and knows the plans for...
