Keep my lips away from calamity things.

I listen to people and I have notice that isn’t easy for people to stay positive and to speak positively.  Yes, we live in a world that is broken and people all around us are hurting.  The difficult part is to keep our words away from calamity things.

It is easier said than done, we need to learn to speak words of encouragement, words to help people turn their thoughts and minds away from a difficult situation to a more positive possible situation.
It is your job and my job to be the person who doesn’t go around speaking about calamity things.  Sending the disastrous message further, when and if you hear about something that is disturbing don’t you go and repeat it and broadcast it to everyone.  Let it die in your presence; change the message to a positive one. “Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth; thou art taken [captive] with the words of thy mouth.” Proverbs 6: 2.

Since we have the power over our thoughts and mind, we also have the power over each and every word that leaves our mouths.  “Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from trouble.”  Proverbs 21: 23  Key to this verse and important for each one of us whom believe in the Lord Jesus a reminder in Romans 8 verse 28 “all things work together  for good to them that love God.”

Reset your mind with these most important key words from Mark 11 verse 23 “[You] shall have whatsoever [you] saith.”

Think about these morsels of positive words.

Thank you for spending your time with me today.  You are a blessing, God bless you.

Please remember to join me today at 5 CAT and listen to my Broadcast on Rainbow Gospel Radio.https://www.pickradio.net/rainbow-gospel-radio

The Challenge is on.

Matthew 13: 34 “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”

This is so true, I have come to realize that my heart is literally dry, I have truly become so negative that when I open my mouth I will speak negatively.  So for the past couple of weeks, I have literally become aware of my speech.  My words and my thoughts; I am taking my words and thoughts captive to the Lord Jesus Christ.

I know someone, this person has really got a vulgar attitude.  This person really cannot speak edifying words whatsoever.  I can see what is in their heart just by listening to their talking.  The bad thing is I believe that it will rub off on other people.  Something I also noticed is not many people like this person because of their vulgar mannerism.

Proverbs 21 verse 23 reminds us that “Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.”  Now, this is food for thought wouldn’t you say?  Yes, so in the meantime, I have made it my business to watch my thoughts, I also have made it my business to watch my words.
Psalms 19 verse 14 reminds us to “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.”  On this point, I truly have been going out of my way to check my words.  I have decided to pray about my attitude and to bring it into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.  I not only want my heart to change but also my attitude and most of all my mind, heart and everything about me.  I desire to become a confident person, with words spoken which look like golden apples.

Psalms 141 verse 3 says “Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.”  This is on my mind constantly because I have been struggling with major negativity.  I really have to watch my words, my lips spring open and words roll out like thorns and sharp knives especially when I am angry.

I hope that this will be of some encouragement to you, as I share my journey going forward with my words and my attitude.  Life is too short for a negative view and I want to live a positive life, with great dreams and a wonderful future.

Thank you for joining me, you are a blessing.

Think before you speak.

Proverbs 25: 11 – 12 MSG “The right word at the right time is like a custom-made piece of jewelry, and a wise friend's timely reprimand is like a gold ring slipped on your finger.”
As you know by now that I am struggling to keep a positive attitude and one of my main problems is that I allow my thoughts to run riot with me.  So the main focus for a couple of days on my blog will be on changing my words so that I will be able to attract the right kind of people into my own life.  Working on my vocabulary changing.
I realize that God is working each day on me and I need to learn what questions to ask so that I can identify the wrong attitudes within me and bring them to God to change.
The questions I am asking myself right now is “What would it take to have a positive attitude?”  Then I also need to identify “What is right about my attitude, which I am missing.”  “What is possible?  What have I not considered?”  It has never been my practice to ask any question since I was a child but the older I get the more I want to know.  I want to know and learn but I want to do this to grow spiritually and to overcome my negative words.
So I want to try out words that will be lovely, beautiful word, something that is able to lift people and be encouraging to them.  Wouldn’t it be nice to speak to someone that is genuinely kind, caring and friendly?

Makes one think.

I tend to beat myself up often

Blows and wounds scrub away evil, and beatings purge the inmost being.”  Proverbs 20: 30

Working on my attitude and my self-esteem is probably something I do daily.  I constantly check my words, I constantly watch what I say.  My thoughts are being trained not to wonder.  It has been a process I have been going through for a couple of years now.  To my mind, I believe that I am better and that I am getting better and better.  What I really want to say I have become more visual over my thinking.

It struck me when I was reading this book on Confidence that my self-esteem is really low.  I do not consider myself better than other people.  I feel that I should shrink back out of the limelight and wait for people to do their own thing.  Then I do enjoy writing and it gives me the ability to express myself but not enough because I live in the real world.

My biggest critic is myself.  I focus on attitudes and words that I feel are wrong and I constantly fight with myself to change them into more positive and good words.  I have never thought of myself as beautiful but has seen me as a “plain Jane” and would not like to compete with a woman my own age.
So I can relate to the words in Proverbs 20 verse 30 “blows and wounds scrub away evil, and beatings purge the inmost being.”  I constantly self-talk and am working on my inmost being.  It is my heart’s desire to be acceptable to the Lord my God.

I constantly pray for wisdom and insight so that I am able to allow the Lord my God to give me paths to discipline my own thinking, heart and my body.   You can only grow spiritually when you dig deep into the Word of God, the Bible.

What is your thoughts around verse 30 in Proverbs 20?

Identify in what kind of relationship you are in.

Genesis 2: 22 Then the Lord God made a woman … and be brought her to the man.

Firstly, Let me give praise and honor to the Lord God of Israel my Abba Father, King of Kings, Lord of Lords.   Based on this verse I believe that God made a woman to be a “helper to her husband.”  When you get involved with people it is important to check the relationship and people you are getting involved with.

According to 1 Corinthians 12 verse 10 “… the ability to distinguish between spirits.”  Is one of the gifts God has given us, and regarding distinguishing between spirits I believe it is imperative to check your mate.  Love is blind but the neighbors aren’t.

Some interesting traits to be aware of are listed as follows: people with a negative spirit, they tend to draw you down.  You should beware of a person with a controlling spirit or vindictive spirit someone whom feels hurt and wants to get back at people or the world; and someone who shows resentment often.  This negative type of person is normally very arrogant and bossy.  I am almost tempted to state an abusive and domineering person.

Something to keep in mind is that this person is normally very charming and so charismatic but the devil lives right inside of them.

My advice on this subject is speaking, to God about any person you want to get involved with, keep an open mind and listen to the Holy Spirit.  Pay attention to all the tell-tale signs.  Be careful.
Be safe and keep God first in your relationship.  You can never go wrong.  Blessings

It’s been a while since I have shared my testimony!

Philemon 1: 6
“The communication of thy faith [will] become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in Christ Jesus.”

Picture this a young woman in 1989 with short dark brown hair and green eyes, walking into an Apostolic Faith Mission Church.  In September of 1989, I was 25 years of age and had two children.  My son Jacques aged 7 and my daughter Odette aged 4.  I was a strict mommy and had thought I had high values.  When we sat in the pews I heard the Lord God speaking to me directly through the pastor.  Sorry, I forget his name, he loved to play the violin which was so beautiful.

God was speaking to me directly that when the pastor made the altar call I had to hold myself down with both my hands so that I would not get up and walk to the front of the church.  The next day I was watching TV with the kids and friends came along to see what we through of the service.  I told them what I experience and my friend then said: “Yvette, that was the Lord God speaking to you, all you need to do is to confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is your Lord and savior.”  They left and I took a long hot bath.  As I lay in my bubble bath, I prayed the sinner's prayer.  “Oh dear Lord God, you know and understand me, I am stubborn, full of nonsense and not a believer.  I humbly come to You today and confess that I am in need of a brand new life.  Please Lord God forgive me, I am not worthy to come to You, but in the Name of Your only begotten Son Jesus Christ forgive me and accept my humble prayer.  Amen”

I prayed for forgiveness of sin that Monday evening and have never looked back.  Sometimes we make mistakes and I have made so many but by the Grace of God here I go.  Thank You, Lord God for being patient with me.  As I send my testimony out to the world today.  I confess and believe that every person believing or non-believing will come to You through the Holy Spirit’s anointing on my writing.

Be blessed in the Holy Name of my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Amen

What do you think would make a great marriage?

Reading Hebrew 13 verses 1 to 4 in the Message “Stay on good terms with each other, held together by love.  Be ready for a meal or a bed when it’s needed.  Why some have extended hospitality to angels without ever knowing it! Regard prisoners as if you were in prison with them.  Look on victims of abuse as if what happened to them had happened to you.  Honor marriage, and guard the sacredness of sexual intimacy between wife and husband.  God draws a firm line against casual and illicit sex.”

1)     God said “Honor marriage”  I believe this means we must stay faithful to each other as a couple.  No one, not mother, father, sister, brother or children should interfere with the marriage between two people.
2)     My body is a temple of God, which means I need to take good care of my body and not fill it up with loads of junk.
3)     Husband and family always the priority.  Then the rest.  Never allow work to override your responsibilities as a husband or wife.  Don’t make your family strangers.
4)     Cleanliness is close to Godliness.  Wash, need I say more?
5)     Share, share and share nothing belongs only to you, share with your spouse.
6)     I love you, don’t forget to say those important words to each other every day.
7)     Do not assume you have rights, check with your spouse and make sure the both of you are on the same page.
8)     Look after your home, keep it clean, tidy and when something is broken fix it and most importantly, have some peace in the home.  Using foul language is not permitted as it is abusive.
9)     After fighting, kiss and makeup, don’t harbor bitterness or keep any grudges.  Let it go and see how you will grow in the marriage.

10) Always honor the Lord your God, keeping the Lord Jesus Christ first is always the best policy and you can never go wrong.  Love the Lord Jesus with all of your heart.

Coming into agreement with Abba Father

Amos 3:3 (AMPC)
Do two walk together except they make an appointment and have agreed?

As I sit in my study today it is my heart’s desire to come into agreement with my Father God, in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

I am going to use these affirmations today and going forward to create my life and abundance so that I too may be a blessing to my Church and people who are in need.

I affirm with my mouth and believe in my heart that  “I can do all things through Christ Jesus of Nazareth which strengthens me.”  Philippians 4 verse 13.  I also believe an confess that “my God will supply all [my] needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus of Nazareth.”  Philippians 4 verse 19.  I further confess and believe that God did not give me a spirit of fear, but of power and of love, and of a sound mind.”  2 Timothy 1 verse 7.

I confess and believe that “God has dealt with every man the measure of faith.” Romans 12 verse 3.  I also believe and confess with my mouth that “the Lord is the strength of my life” Psalm 27 verse 1 and that “the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.”  Daniel 11 verse 32.

I stand in agreement with Abba Father in that “because greater is he that is to [me] than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4 verse 4 and I believe that “God… always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus of Nazareth.” 2 Corinthians 2 verse 14.

I confirm and agree with my God Abba Father today that “Christ Jesus of Nazareth … has become for [me] us wisdom from God.”  1 Corinthians 1 verse 30 and I believe and agree with God that “with his stripes [I] we are healed.” Isaiah 53 verse 5.

Furthermore, I agree and confess with my God Abba Father today that “Casting all [my] cares upon him; for he cares for [me].’  1 Peter 5 verse 7

Lord God I also agree and stand firm in Your word on “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”  2 Corinthians 3 verse 17 and finally, Lord, I confirm and agree with You today that “there is therefore now no condemnation to [me] them which are in Christ Jesus of Nazareth.”  Romans 8 verse 1.

As I speak their affirmations today I confess and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth sitting on the right hand of our Father God in heaven.  May Your Words come true today in my life as well as each person reading these affirmations, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  Amen

Book Review : The Secret Code of the Dead

Name of the Book                          :           The Secret code of the Dead
Author                                                :           Charlie Purple
Personal Quality Rating             :           5
[My personal quality rating is a 5, the score that I give to the book on a scale of 0 to 5 based on my personal liking/disliking of the book.  0 is bad and 5’s are great!]
Summary
A Science fiction Novel is written using the setting of Dulwich, London as well as some travel to Karbala, Iraq.  This short story of 80 pages is beautifully written and tells a story of four friends.  The main character in the story is David who has been in love with Jen forever.  As a reporter, he has been assigned to travel to Karbala to report on the atrocities that have been taking place in Iraq.  On his travels to Iraq, Karbala he makes friends with Mustafa a taxi driver.
While back in London Hadrian his other friend who is a psychic and or medium is dabbling with some funky stuff.  As I read the story I cried and laughed and cried, the unraveling of this story is so amazing I enjoyed it once I sat down to read it.  The writer has probably some insights into the supernatural and is using this in his book.
The characters in the book are so interesting, I enjoyed the four main characters and definitely loved David and Jen.  Mustafa was funny and I can picture him in real live as well as his beautiful wife Layla.
Social / Historical Content
This is a modern day story which depicts real life events taking place in the world of today.  I believe the purpose of the story is to enlighten the reader of perhaps a supernatural realm.  A mystic and dream world that would be so wonderful, which in away made me wish it could happen.  The reality of the story is that we are dealing with some strange people around us.
People all over the world are basically the same, and we all go through different stages of life.  I felt David’s pain and I also felt his joy.
Writing Style
The writing style as I see it is evocative and commonplace.  It was an easy read and I loved the characters depicted in the story.  The writer knew what he wanted to share with his readers.  I also enjoyed telling the story.
The story narrates a circle of friends and their experience which intertwines with each other.  How they deal with something that comes into play unexpectedly.  The fact that they stand together was amazing.
My Thoughts
This science fiction novel is a real page-turner, I enjoyed all the characters depicted in the story and there was time I laughed and times that I cried.  I could picture some of the events and it was well written.   To be honest I believe the writer enjoyed telling the story.  He knew what he wanted to share and it was truly a lovely story.
The fiction was almost real; you have to read the story to get the gist of it.  I hope to see more of his books.

Why are you Grumbling! Stop it!

Just thinking about this past couple of weeks I do believe I have been grumbling all the time, I am like a growling dog.  In Exodus 15 verse 24 we read “so the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to drink?””  Because life this past couple of weeks have really been trying and difficult I have been walking around with a stiff neck, and a headache too.
You know those feelings of abandonment, being left out and disappointed and feelings of uselessness and not being able to stay focused or even function properly?  These are all that I have been dealing with the past couple of days.  Then this morning I am preparing for a Sunday School lesson and it struck me that I should stop my grumbling immediately.
Looking back now made me realize that I have so much to be grateful of and yes I find myself in an almost impossible situation but why should I allow all these negative feelings to overwhelm and take hold of my life.
The truth of the matter is I am not in control over everything in my own life and because I cannot control lives events, I must remember and trust and believe that the Holy God of Israel, my God, the  God of Lights is always in control.
It is imperative that we grow spiritually and by growing we are also being pruned many times, I do believe that I am being pruned and it is painful and I don’t enjoy the discomfort but because I am faithful and trust and believe in the Lord I am sure that His words will not come back void to me.
I am reminded in Isaiah 46 verse 11 that “I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass.”  God isn’t a person that He would lie to me, and I can trust and believe that He will come through for me.  I don’t always understand my circumstances and I am not sure I understand why things work out the way they do.
Now I need to find God’s promises in my own life, look for the conditions and persistently pray over them believing that the Lord God will keep His word to me.  My struggle is being patient and now it is time to learn to be patient.
May I ask you as my Blogger friends please keep me in your prayers today, help me deal with my circumstance and help me focus on the Word of God.  You are a blessing to me.  Thank you for letting me share my life with you today.  In the Holy name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  Amen

Building my own Website - hair raising experience ;-)

This is truly a challenge, I have managed to put social media buttons in on one of the pages, and I also have managed to put a contact me email shot in as well.  There is still a number of nitty gritty goodies I need to do and learn.

The main reason for building my Website is to promote my upcoming book which is going to be published this year.  I am looking forward to this because it is my first book that will be published.  I cannot wait.

My Book is a Daily Devotional for 365 days of the year.  I anticipate it will be ready very soon.  Once I have the book published I will, of course, let you know.

It has been a wonderful experience and I am so grateful and happy that the Lord my God has allowed this to happen.  I believe my time is now and I want to grab it with both my hands.  You know we all face difficulties and life can come with some serious curve balls, but I am so grateful that the Lord is here for me.

Financial Increase

2 Corinthians 9: 10 CEV “He will increase what you have.”

Sometimes we have difficulties that we just can do nothing about, for instance, I am jobless currently and I have no resources to assist my husband.  I feel helpless and sometimes I feel so guilty because he needs to carry the burned of looking after me too.

I was thinking about this verse and you know God is faithful and He is dependable and I believe that He will provide when it’s the right time.  My thoughts on this matter is that God is telling us that He will increase what we have.  I also believe that God know our hearts and minds, He also knows what we can handle at what time in our lives.

The thing is we need to come into agreement with God’s word and stay focused on what we know He is capable of doing in our lives.  The main focus is to also get God involved with our finances, I am trusting God to do something miraculously in my life.

Yes, I am out of a job but hey that doesn’t stop God of helping.  I sometimes wonder why I am in this position and yet God knows best for my life.  I trust and believe that He will give in abundance at the right time, I must trust and have faith in his capabilities and know that He will provide.  In so doing I would be able to help someone else in need.

You know that it’s the best possible reason to get God involved in your live especially your finances.  Calling on Him now while you are still doing well, don’t wait for the day when you are running on empty.

You are a blessing to me and others.  We love you ;-)

Thank You #Lord #JesusChrist

Isaiah 41:13
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, 'Do not fear; I will help you.'

These past couples of days have been hectic in my own life and that of the lives of my family.  My mom and oom Frik have been under the threat of being evicted and needed somewhere to stay.  Bless Andus in his work today, give him supernatural favor with each and every person today, Lord blesses him in all his work.  Lord guides him and protects him.  Let no harm come to him.  I plead the blood of Jesus Christ over his life.

Praise the Lord our God for open the right doors for them to move into a big beautiful flat.  God is so gracious and He is constantly looking out for our wellbeing.

I believe with my entire heart and mind that my God hears my prayers and I just need to learn to trust Him more.  I bring You all the Praise, worship and adorations I can think of Lord Jesus Christ.

Father thank You for open doors, open hearts, and open lives, Thank You that You are in control over our lives and that You have made a way for all of us.

We praise You and worship at Your feet.  Love You, with all my heart, body and soul.  Amen

Book Review - The Last Best Thing

Book Review:                                   The Last Best Thing
Author:                                              Kate Sebeny
Personal Quality Rating:                  3

Summary:

This Novella is written using the setting of the farm in Iowa.  A short story not more than 84 pages starts off with a statement from Sam.  The characters in the story are all in the retired years, people that have come together due to circumstances.

Betty’s daughter Libby comes to live with her mother to help her aging father who suffers from Alzheimer’s and Betty’s friends Sam and Sarah and Joe.  The story takes a turn when one of the characters needs help in committing suicide.  This happens suddenly and to be honest I didn’t expect it from this person as they supposedly loved the other person.

A lot of bantering takes place which makes the story enjoyable to read.  Then a twist in the story takes place when someone turns up that the farm house inquiring about the deceased person.

Social / Historical Context:

The normal day-to-day living in a very tight community of no more than 5 people and what they do and talk about.  It was amazing to see how these old folk adjusted and helped each other.  They seemed to be living life as it presented itself to them.  I felt the hardship they were facing and yet it was not that difficult as they had each other comradery.

It reminded me of my mom in some way the way she is aging and how thin she too was.  The way they cope with matters and be what they are there and then.

Writing Style:

The writing style to my mind is common place.  It narrated a relationship with each other out of circumstances and friendships.  The writer seems to understand the aging process and has sympathy with the characters.

It narrates a group of elderly people living together due to circumstance beyond their control.

My Thoughts:

The story depicted a telling of aging people, circumstances that made for an unforeseen decision on a suicide or was it a murder or was it euthanasia?  The person that assisted with the act of taking care of this person dilemma didn’t consider their own conscience and the impact of their decision later on.

As fiction I think was very close to real life experience and the problems that elderly people face with sickness and misfortune.

Book Review - Woman to Woman

Name of the Book:                         Woman to Woman
Author:                                           Joyce Meyer
Personal Quality Rating:                5

Summary

I love reading books that were written by this author; she is focused on teaching the Word of God and explaining how we are able to incorporate the word into our daily lives.  Woman to woman is one of those books that touch every aspect of a woman’s life.

The writer focuses on key issues that affect each and every woman at some stage in their lives.  I have found that each of these issues that have been highlighted was prevalent at some time in my life.
The book is easy to read and understand; constantly bringing the reader back to the Word of God with scriptures that make it understandable and how to incorporate the word into your own life.

I believe that because experienced each of the issues she highlighted it was easy to express her in such a way that other woman could relate.  The woman of today has a lot on their plates and as the writer says we all wear different “hats”.

Social/Historical Context

Woman to woman is based on the writers live experiences and how she learned to trust in God Almighty with all the issues she faced.  The message she wants to bring across is that we can do even better when we have someone on our team.  That someone is the Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe because the writer has a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ it is possible for her to reveal all the key elements to make one journey that much easier.

Writing Style

The writer definitely knows what she is talking about; she has personal experience in these matters and has valid answers which can assist woman in similar circumstances.  The writing style is common place as well as evocation.    The writer is narrating her own life story and how she dealt with numerous circumstances with an ability to constantly draw on God’s help.

My thoughts

As Christian woman today we need to learn how to deal with issues in our lives, the writer has the ability to bring the Word of God into her writing, based on facts and circumstances.  The writer has to my mind a living relationship with the Lord God.

I believe many of the key issues that the writer wrote about are exactly what I have been struggling with in my own life and now I can see another person’s perspective on how to deal and relate to these issues.

You cannot fail in purchasing this book, it can only help you move forward in life and help you build a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.  Yes, I would definitely say this is a good read and you cannot go wrong in reading this well written, easy to read Book.

Where do you let #God #fit into your #life?

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect).  Matthew 22: 37

Sunday has its perks we go to Church, teach Sunday School, enjoy lunch with our families, take a nap get ready for the evening and then go to bed.

It’s Monday and we are all busy, today my life is a little different it is raining here in the “heartland” and we cannot do what we normally do.  There are no ways we can do our washing and get it hang out on the washing line.  It will be soaking wet with rain water.

As I was thinking about this I have been asking the Lord God for raining probably the whole of last week, each day walking outside and asking “Lord where is the rain?”  No rain today with all my washing lying in the washing machine, I see God sent me the rain I was asking Him about.

Now, where is God in my life?  I am serious, actively and positively looking to find God in each aspect of my entire life.

I believe that I love the Lord my God with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind.  I truly believe that is how I feel about God.

Today I want you to think about your position to God.  Where do you fit God in?  Is God alive and well with you?

We know that God has been around for ever and ever look at the word Colossians 1 verse 17 says “and He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, and held together).”  To my mind God is with me right this very minute and I love Him with all my heart and mind.

If you aren’t sure where God is in your life, take a moment and mediate on His word, find time and spend it with Him.  Invite Him back into Your life again.  Without God we are nothing.

Electricity and Water Issues – Mpumalanga Witbank South Africa

As a resident of this place I truly am so upset, we cannot do much about it because it seems this place is out to take every little bit out of their residence.  The municipality owes Eskom so much money and has not paid the bill for the usage of Electricity.  Let me tell you something if we miss one payment they cut off the electricity and make you pay penalty fees to have it switched back on.

We also suffer the inconvenience of no electricity which also affects our water.  The water, by the way, is another story all on its own.  If you drink this water you will really be violently sick.  Resulting in us needing to buy bottled water which cost us more, as we are paying for water at home too.

As a stay home mom, I cannot do my washing on Mondays because the electricity is switched off at 06h00 am to 08h00 am and the water is non-existent.  To top it off tonight we go through the same thing again from 17h00 to 19h30 pm no lights.  Don’t be misled this will happen on a daily basis the weekend is no different.  We are paying Sandton rates and tax’s in Witbank.

My question is why must the people who are paying their bills to be affected by
the negligence of the municipality?  We are being kept accountable for their mistakes.  What is going to become of our cities?

Book Review - The Next Target Nikki Arana

Name of the Book:                                        The Next Target
Author:                                                           Nikki Arana
Personal Quality Rating:                              5

[The Personal Quality Rating is a score that I have given to the book on a scale of 0 to 5 based on my personal liking / disliking of the book.  0 is bad and 5 is great!]

Summary:

A gripping Christian Novella, which kicks off with a brutal killing of a young converted Muslim girl.  This was an honour killing.  The murderous Islamic tradition of family members killing one of their own for bringing dishonour to the family name.  Austia Donatelli recently widowed runs a Career Center to help Muslim people adjust to the American culture.  She employees a guy with the name of Zaki ben Hassan.  After she employed him she feels uncomfortable with his presence and tries to fire him.  He stays and the plot thickens.
Austia is constantly on her guard and watchful off Zaki, she just cannot trust him.  She is unaware of the dangerous people all around her and she makes the mistake of trusting a really deceptive and dangerous man.  The plot thickens and she tries to help a lady escape from her brutal barbering husband.  There are a number of characters in the story which makes this story exceptionally interesting.  The culture of the Muslims and the way they behave is described exceptionally well.
I like Austia but thought she was a little naïve and did not go with her gut.  This of course made the story actually seem real at times.  The intrigue and cunningness of some of the characters made me sit up and pay attention to the next couple of events.
The story takes you on an adventure you would not usually experience in life.  The best part is the ending and I really enjoyed it because you don’t see this coming.  I would say this was so unforeseen.

Social / Historical Content

I guess the story is truly based on two different religions and how the two come into contact with each other.  The most interesting part of the story is how the Christians work and help the Muslims and the conversions of Muslims into Christianity.  I think that the writer could have been a Muslim because of her vast knowledge of their customs and rituals.  Converting to Christianity which makes me envy her for her courage and writing style.
The story is well written and it is easy to fall in love with Austia.  Her innocence and her loving-kindness and her trusting most people, and her constant struggle with her own gut feelings.  Zaki is a surprise and you will see when you read this story, o my goodness.  Excellent!

Writing Style

The writing style to my thinking is that the author has the ability to keep her readers engaged and interested in what the next move in the story would be.  I found the book interesting and easy to read.  My thinking is that the story depicts both common place and evocation.
The plot thickens each time a new character comes into play and it is clear the writer knows what she wants to tell her readers.  I believe that she is a Christian and has a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus.
The knowledge and understanding of the Muslim community is revealed in this story telling and I learned so much of these people.
If you are a Christian and would like to know more about the Muslim Religion this story will reveal so much to you.  I enjoyed the read tremendously and I have a new perspective concerning the Muslims and as a Christian see them in a different light.

My thoughts

When I stated to read the book I was thinking it would be based on a murder and then how the murder would be solved; involving the Muslim girl making it a hate crime.  I didn’t anticipate the two major religions to come into play so seriously.  As I continued my read I found that I learned so much about the Muslim community and the best part is how the writer gets the Word of God out to the Muslims.

As a Christian I would recommend the book and I believe you too will enjoy the story.  I was surprised at the ending because I didn’t anticipate it.  But then with God all things are possible.

Focusing on my future with the #Lord #Jesus #Christ of #Nazareth

“You… grant him [power to calm himself and find] peace in the days of adversity.”  Psalm 94: 13 AMP

As I read these words it is my heart’s desire to center all my energy and time on the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  I have come to a place in my life that I need to find peace of mind, I sometimes get the feeling of being tired and overwhelmed and lose sight of the Words God has put in my heart.  I know that I am the righteousness of God in Christ but sometimes I forget.

I want to come into God’s presence as He is my Father with the anointing blood of Jesus covering all my sins and iniquities making me presentable and acceptable to the Father.  I know God has called me by name and that I am His.

Today I want to encourage you as well as myself the listen to the voice of God, and delight ourselves in God because we know His yoke is easy and His burden is light.  We know that nothing is too heavy for us to bear or too difficult to deal with.

Help me take note of all the blessings You have for me and help me Lord to see and appreciate You loving kindness in my hour of adversity.  Help me Lord Jesus Amen

Valentine #Jesus #Christ of #Nazareth

Jeremiah 31:3
'I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love, I have drawn you to Myself.'

What an awesome God we serve, the Father was thinking of you today, when you thought no one cares about me.  God sent you a special Valentine Card, which reads “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love.  With unfailing love, I have drawn you to Myself.”

This is the most beautiful and wonderful Valentines card ever, the Father God loves us so much He refers to it “as an everlasting love.”  Reminding us too that He loves us with an “unfailing love”  what does He do “drawing you to Myself.”

If you didn’t get Valentine's card today, here is one especially for you for the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  You are precious and God Loves you with an everlasting and unfailing love.

As I meditate on these beautiful words today I do want to encourage you to stay focused on the Lord.  Don’t be afraid and do not lose hope, the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth loves you and you may call on Him anytime you wish.

My prayer for you today is this:  Abba Father, thank You, Lord, for this encouraging Valentines card, we receive it in the Holy Name of Your Only Begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  We love and adore You Lord with all our hearts and minds.  Amen

What motivates you? #Courage #Strength #Fear #Prayer #God’s #Word

Psalm 27: 1 KJV
“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

I have been focusing on learning more about the LORD Jesus Christ of Nazareth and what backs the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth Name.   I must tell you I will stand on His name and fear no more.  I am entitled to so much more but because I have allowed fear and doubt into my life I find myself in an awkward position.

The thing is we need to learn to confess what God’s word #Bible teaches us, but because we allow other people to impart into our lives we don’t find out for ourselves.  We accept people's point of view and what they believe and almost always suck it up as “truths.” Are you facing a difficult time, are you feeling fearful, because you have the lack of finances, you fear unemployment, perhaps you fear being rejected.  Come and see how King David dealt with fear.

Kind David taught me a great lesson and I am going to keep this in mind going forward.  Fear was knocking at the door of his mind and he said: “whom shall I fear?”  In the very same sentence he asks “of whom shall I be afraid?”  Turning his mind back to God he said “my heart shall not fear” and then confession “in this will I be confident.”  Kind David must have sat down and meditated a while and decided to deal with fear head on.

King David prayed and said “One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.”

Still mediating and speaking to the LORD; King David prayed “teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.  Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breath out cruelty.”

King David ends his prayer “Wait on the LORD; be of good courage and he sahll strenghten thine heart:  wait, I say, on the LORD.” We can come in good courage and strenght knowing God will help our efforts.

A love affair #Jesus #Christ

Proverbs 31: 30
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.”

How is your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth these days?  Would you say the minute you open your eyes in the morning the Lord Jesus Christ is on your mind?  Or when you wake up the first thing you think on is a nice hot cup of coffee?

In the beginning when you just became a born again Christian where you thinking of the Lord in the early hours of the morning?

Today I want to encourage you to rekindle your “love affair with the Lord Jesus.”  Start doing the things you did in the beginning.  I wanted to know everything about the Lord Jesus; I made it my business to read my Bible when and where I could.  I sat in my car during lunchtime reading page after page.  I then made it my business to learn as much as I could about the Lord Jesus.

At night before I went to bed regardless of the time I would first go and read a chapter or two, writing my thoughts and prayers in my Journal.

While we study God’s word we are renewing our minds, our souls are growing spiritually and the Holy Spirit is revealing new truths to us.

Today, be encouraged, rekindle your love affair with the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  You are a blessing,  my beloved.

I crave for You #Lord #Jesus #Christ

John 15:5  (KJV)
“I am the vine, ye are the branches:  He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:  for without me ye can do nothing.”

John 1: 14 – 18 (KJV)
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, [and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only-begotten of the Father,] full of grace and truth.  John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, this was he of whom I spoke, He that cometh after me is preferred before me:  for he was before me.  And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.  For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.  No man hath seen God at any time; the only-begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”

Today I want to encourage you to turn back to the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  We seem to forget the full power we have in the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  What we do not realize is that God the Father sent the Lord Jesus Christ to die on a cross for our sins.  The Father loved us some much that He sent His only begotten son the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth to die on the cross for each one of us.

Today I want to remind you that we need the Lord Jesus Christ each and every minute in our lives.  We need the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth to accomplish what He wants in our own lives.

As you think and focus on the Lord Jesus Christ you can start by praising His name, giving Him glory and calling Him back into Your lives.

What I like to do is write and speak my mind on my laptop, I sit down and think about the Lord Jesus, and I confess all the things I feel is keeping me away from Him.  I also go and speak to the Lord about what I am facing and my difficulties.  My prayer is that the Lord Jesus is changing me one day at a time.
