It’s Christmas time and we are all gearing up for the festive season. I do want to remind you today that we must stay focused and remember the reason for this season.  The Lord Jesus was born and we are celebrating His birth.  Let us not forget that our hope lay in the LORD always. 

As you enjoy time with your family and friends remember that we should place our complete confidence and trust in our God. Today I want to encourage you to do good things for others and to stay connected to the LORD.  Reading His Word each and every day.  We are feeding on the scripture and we are going to grow spiritually.

LORD, we place our hope in You and we know that You are keeping us safe each day.  Thank You that You are allowing our land to prosper.  For the good rains and great harvests.

Prayer

Abba Father, our hope is in You.  We worship and adore You, we bring You honor and glory.  We praise Your Holy Name, we pray Holy Spirit come and fill our lives so that we may be accepted before the LORD.  O Lord thank You for making me righteous and accepted through the Blood of Jesus Christ.  I am blessed and highly favored by You.  In the Holy Name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Psalm 13: 6
“I will sing to the LORD,
because He has dealt
bountifully with me.”

I am so grateful for the past year!  God is awesome and He is great, I can only come before Him in humble gratefulness.  When the year started I didn’t know how my year was going to unfold.  I then received a mail stating that my Book “Daily Devotional Ebenezer” looks good and my publisher is going to publish.

We worked on my book a couple of months and this month I was super blessed when God opened doors for me.  I was afforded the opportunity to go back to work again on a contract basis.  Then I am a radio presenter and I am baking cakes and my goodness my book is released to the public.

You never know how your year is going to unfold with the LORD.  But I will sing to the LORD because He has dealt bountifully with me.

Prayer

Blessings and honor to You LORD, I am so grateful and in awe, thank You, thank You, thank You so much for bountiful blessings I received this year.  I love and honor You so much, LORD.  LORD thank You for blessing me this year and I believe You are going to bless me next year.  Thank You very much.

A time for giving

Ecclesiastes 11: 1
“Be generous, and someday you will be rewarded.”

It’s this time of year when many people are facing difficult times and when you feel that you need to hold onto what you have.  But wouldn’t it be so nice to help someone in need?

I think of the elderly that are struggling with finances, a place to stay and what about food on their tables.

We are reminded in Ecclesiastes to be generous and someday we will be rewarded.  One day you might be facing a difficulty and someone may just come along and help you. 

I know God is watching each one of us and we really need to show more compassion towards our fellow men and woman.  If you are able please help someone this Christmas, it is the season for giving and also for love and peace.

Come now is the time to do something worth your while, you may have the means and you could do a good deed.  Please do that, don’t let this opportunity pass you by.

Prayer

Lord, please help us to open our hearts to our fellow men and women, people who are truly in need of our help.  Let us show mercy and kindness to all people and help were we can.  In Jesus name Amen

Colossians 3: 12-14
“So, as God’s own chosen people,
who are holy [set apart, sanctified
for His purpose] and well-beloved [by God Himself],
put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility,
gentleness, and patience [which has the power to endure
whatever injustice or unpleasantness comes, with good temper];
bearing graciously with one another,
and willingly forgiving each other if one has a cause
for complaint against another;
just as the Lord has forgiven you,
so should you forgive?
Beyond all these things put on and wrap yourselves in
[unselfish] love, which is the perfect bond
of unity [for everything is bound together in agreement
when each one seeks the best for others].”

A chosen generation, I believe that I was born for this moment in time, and so were you.  Yes, we live in a perilous world and love doesn’t seem to feature anywhere lately.  I don’t even notice any civility between people, husband’s and wives and even children are rude. 

It’s almost as though we have forgotten how to show compassion, kindness and being humble isn’t in anybody’s books lately.  I don’t see people being gentle and their patience has run out before the next word is spoken.

I pray that we will wrap ourselves in love and start being kinder to people, showing compassion towards others, turning away from vicious words with a humbleness that makes people stop and listen.  Being in a good frame of mind any time of the day and always trying to see the other guys point of view.

Learning to forgive people and working towards unity instead of trying to get even.  I know it sounds difficult but I do want to remind you that it isn’t impossible.

Prayer

Lord, Father God, we humbly come into Your presence today as we wrap ourselves in agreement with Colossians 3: 12-14.  Lord guide us and teach us to be kinder, loving, gentle and compassionate quick to listen and slow to speak our minds.  Lord help us to forgive and mend fences.  Open our eyes and ears so that we can hear what it is You are teaching us each day.  I pray in Jesus Christ's name.  Amen

Believe the unbelievable

2 Timothy 4: 1 – 4
“In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus,
who will judge the living and the dead,
and in view of his appearing and his kingdom,
I give you this charge:
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season;
correct, rebuke and encourage -
with great patience and careful instruction.
For the time will come when people will not
put up with sound doctrine.
Instead, to suit their own desires,
they will gather around them a great number
for teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
They will turn their ears away from the
truth and turn aside to myths.”

This Christmas season has become one of the best in my entire life.  I have been afforded the wonderful opportunity to present a Daily Devotional Ebenezer to the world.  God has been with me every step of the way and at one stage I believed that God had decided that I cannot publish.

I believed that God has His own timing and that I must believe and trust in Him.  My book is basically short scripture verses as daily devotions and my personal thoughts on it.  My aim is to show people that God’s word is still alive and out there.  I am reminded to preach the word, in and out of season, correction and rebuke and encourage people. 

It is my heart’s desire that the Lord’s Holy Spirit will touch each person reading our book.  I believe the Holy Spirit will work in each of our lives.

I didn’t write to accommodate some peoples itching ears I wrote for the love of God and my Savior Lord Jesus.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for the truth we are able to share with the world.  I know there are many believers and non-believers out there that needs a touching of the Holy Spirit in their own lives.  Please Lord, help them going forward.  Keeping them close to You, let’s turn away from myths and start searching for the truth in Jesus Name I pray.  Amen

Father God, Lord thank You so much for a beautiful day.  Bless each person on this site, Lord with supernatural favor from You as well as from each person they come into contact with.  I pray Lord and thank You that I am the righteousness of God in Christ. The Blood of Jesus Christ is my covering and I believe that I am the object of Your affection.  Lord, I thank You for the favor that surrounds me today as a shield, I also thank You that the first thing people come into contact with is my favor shield.

O Lord, thank You that I have Your favor and that I also enjoy this favor with man.  All day long people go out of their way to bless me and help me.  I have favor with everyone that I deal with and come into contact with today.  Lord thank You for doors that were once closed are now opened for me.  I believe Lord that I receive preferential treatment, and I have special privileges.  I am God’s favored child.

Lord thank You that no good thing will not be withheld from me.  Because of God’s favor, my enemies cannot triumph over me.  I have supernatural increase and promotion.

Lord, I declare restoration of everything that the devil has stolen from me.  I have honor in the midst of my adversaries and increases of assets Lord You know where.

I believe because I am highly favored by You LORD, I experience great victories, supernatural turnarounds and miraculous breakthroughs in the midst of great impossibilities. 

Lord, I receive recognition, prominence, and honor.  Petitions are granted to me even by ungodly authorities.  Policies, rules, regulations, and laws are changed and reversed on my behalf.

O Lord I believe that I win battles that I don’t even have to fight because You LORD fight them for me.  This is the day; the set time and the designated moment for me to experience the free favor of God that profusely and lavishly abound on my behalf and that of Odette and all reading this prayer in Jesus Christ Holy Name, Amen.

Are you listening?

Acts 16: 14-15
One of those listening was a woman from the city
of Thyatira named Lydia,
a dealer in purple cloth.  She was a worshiper of God.
The Lord opened her heart to
respond to Paul’s message.
When she and the members of her
household were baptized,
she invited us to her home.
“If you consider me a believer in the LORD.”
she said, “come and stay at my house.”
And she persuaded us.

I don’t know how successful and great you are but are you listening today?  I God talking to you?  Has God opened your heart to His word?  We need to learn to hear God’s word and to act on it.

We must be open to new concepts and ideas so that we are able to grow spiritually.  I know many people resist Change and they find it hard to adjust. 

I want to encourage you today, why don’t you listen.  I see this woman listening to the Word of God spoken by Paul.  As she sat there God opened her heart and she responded to Paul’s message.  In that moment she allowed Paul to come into her house.  Her entire household had been baptized and she believed in God.  Inviting Paul to come to her home, faith in action.

Prayer

Heavenly Father each and every person who reads Your scripture today, I pray that they will hear You speaking to them.  I know that it is Your desire to bless each person today.  I ask Holy Spirit that You will touch the lives of each person reading my blog.  Blessing them in abundance because of their obedience.  In the Holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen

Pursue your God-ordained passion.

Proverbs 10: 21-23
The lips of the righteous feed many,
but fools die for lack of understanding.
It is the blessing of the LORD
that makes rich,
and He adds no sorrow to it.
Doing wickedness is like sport to a fool,
and so is wisdom to a man of understanding.

I believe God has a plan for each and every person reading this blog and sometimes we make mistakes and take a detour.  Thank God for His patience and faithful love. 

I believe that God is working something special in my own life here and now.  My daughter reminded me that I am the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus.  I am highly favored by God as well as by people.

I am working right now and God has a great plan in place for my life, the future is unknown to me and I can only believe and trust in God’s grace and supernatural favor.

Today I want to pray that You will also see the blessings of the LORD that make rich without adding any sorrow to it.

O Father God, thank You, thank You, thank You for Your supernatural favor with You LORD as well as with people today.  Thank You for blessings and riches according to Your Word.  Thank You for family and friends.  Thank You also that we may boldly come into Your presence covered by the Holy Blood of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  We love and adore You LORD God.  Great and Mighty are YOU!  In Jesus Holy Name, Amen

Looking foolish

1 Corinthians 3: 18 – 20
“Let no one deceive himself.  If any of you thinks
he is wise in this age,
he should become a fool,
so that he may become wise.
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight.
As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness.
And again, “The LORD knows that
the thoughts of the wise are futile.””

The past couple of days have been difficult for me, I was constantly reminded that I really look foolish and people will take offense with me.  I felt a little intimidated and worried about what people thought of me.  I gained a couple of kg’s and then my minds started telling me I am getting fat.  For someone who worries about their weight, this is a real threat.

I also have been plagued with negative thoughts the entire week.  This was so bad that on Thursday I really felt terrible, I was constantly reminded that I am foolish and that people look down on me.  I at some stage realized that I was so tearful. 

All of this was due to a system malfunction and I actually believed that it was my fault.  This morning I even awoke from a nightmare as I was running late in my dream.  I jumped out of bed 4:30 ran to the bathroom and opened the showers hot water tap.  My husband lay in bed asking where are you going.  Hurry up we are running late, come get out of bed.  He sat up and said no, get back into bed it's 4:30.  

Just because the past week I have been feeling foolish and I have allowed the opinions of people to influence me when God is on my side.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I will not allow my fear of feeling foolish in this world to stop me from being Your faithful servant.  I apologize for not always listening to You.  I humbly thank You Lord for another day, great opportunities and great surprises.  I love You Lord and I want to praise Your holy Name.  Thank You also so much for my children what a blessing they are in my life.  Praise You, Lord Jesus.  Amen
