Today's Golden Rule

Proverbs 16: 32 ESV “Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.”
Proverbs 19: 11 ESV “Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.”
Proverbs 14: 17 ESV “A man of quick temper acts foolishly, and a man of evil devices is hated.”
James 1: 19 ESV Hearing and Doing the Word “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;”

The art of listening is something each person should learn.  We are reminded that God spoke to us a very long time ago about this very important factor.  In Proverbs we are reminded that we should be slow to anger and watch our tempers.

James in the New Testament also reminds us that we should “be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to being angry.”  I know live in the real world and people are fickle and can make one so angry.  This where the Golden Rule of life will come into play, we should watch our words and guard our hearts.  Let’s not take everything literally and let’s be patient with people.  You know they might be facing some difficulties and not always thinking.  People under pressure become reactive and rarely listen.

I don’t know if this will apply in your life but for today apply this one “golden rule.”

Prayer

Lord as we meditate and think on Your Word today please help us to be quick to listen and slow to becoming angry and slow to speaking out.  We struggle with our ego’s and we allow our flesh to rise up and control our lives.  Forgive us for being so egotistical as we repent today asking for the Holy Spirits help in our own lives.  We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen

2nd Wedding Anniversary!

Hey, hey it is my 2 nd anniversary!   This has been an interesting time in my life and I must be honest I am starting to see the changes in my own life.    Firstly remember I am a city girl with this bad ass attitude, my way or the highway.   Ah, now let me tell you that doesn’t work like this.   My husband has a firm hand over me and keeps me in toe.   I am still my own person and have many new interests.    How was my day today?   Well the normal, got out of bed at 04h30 and then left the house by 06h00 arriving at work at 07h00.   Then to top it off in an early morning meeting at 07h30 to 08h30, then back in the office.   I worked on three projects; getting information from people isn’t that easy.   I firstly completed my own scope of work, followed up with the suppliers and then going back to the next person.   As I work according to my time keeping schedule I then finally got to lunch time.   I...

~ Reach Out if You Wish to Succeed ~ Galatians 5:13 – “By love, serve one another.”

Gentle reader, Permit me to offer this quiet truth: success does not arrive on satin cushions, announced by trumpets or tapping politely at your parlour door. No — it is more elusive, more noble in its pursuit. It often hides itself behind connections yet to be made, and relationships yet to be pursued. To flourish in this life, one must be bound — not by title or fortune — but by divine connection. For those who are destined to elevate you may not arrive unbidden. More often, it is you who must summon the courage to seek them out. Let us consider the evidence: Why is the newspaper sold on every corner, and the soda machine placed on every floor? Because success is positioned where the people are. Even our beloved Lord, Jesus — did He sit upon a high throne in a palace, declaring, “Only here may you find Me?” Certainly not. He moved among the people — to the market stalls, along the dusty shores where fishermen cast their nets, into the synagogues and modest homes. “He went through...
